I have a Nokia 3650 that was on that AT&T network. I bought it off eBay and had it unlocked. How can I get GPRS or WAP on Cingular?
Thanks,
Bill

BUT, what if the handset was off after the initial registration in Canada?
Also, customers are not billed this way in the US. Example, You are in..........New York. I call you mobile to mobile, or I call you land line to mobile. You have 250 package minutes and you have talked 250 this bill cycle. You don't answer and the calls are forwarded back to your vmail server based in Miami, your home market. You are not billed for an incoming call, and/or an outgoing call to Miami from New York, since your package minutes are gone.....

the Cingular VM system does not automaticly store the VM password... so this is why you have to input it...
there is a workaround that works on most phones....... all you have to do is go in to the VM number...
on motorola's it is Menu-->Messeges-->Menu Key(again)-->Voicemail Setup.
in there you will see the voicemail number, what you need to do is put a pause after the voicemail number(do this by pressing and holding the star key till a 'p' shows up, then put in the password following that, this was whenever you dial VM it automatily puts in the password.

thats correct, it does not work that way in the US...the system does make these calls, but they are automaticly filtered out and not charged to your minutes.
BUT... since these calls are made in an international country, and not on the cingular network, they are billed as interinational roaming.... im not saying i like it... but that how it goes as far as i know

Looks like the legal team and sales vp need to decide how to handle this then since it is not addressed with the sales training team or sales support. It might be hidden somewhere in the tiny fine print of my contract. BUT, as a past sales manager for cingular wireless, I had never had the issue, not had any of my team or customers asked about it. I had 8 yrs tenure when I took the package in 2002.

You cannot change the alpha tag, it is sent out by the towers as an ID to show which network you are in.

Is that why you cannot change the Cingular banner, or is it why you should not change it? My LG L1200 phone has a LCD on the outside that also displays the network, so I would still have the ID without the wallpaper-blocking Cingular banner. Technically, can you remove it, or at least change the spelling of "Cingular" to "Cingular"?

I have a feature called no answer transfer which is no longer available to new customers, but has been on my account for years. When I upgraded my phone and plan last week, my account reactivated voice mail instead. The no answer transfer feature is still on the account, but no one at Cingular can tell me how to reactivate it. How do I activate and deactivate voicemail? And, how do I activate and deactivate no answer transfer?
Thanks.
