I am interested in getting music tones for my cell(the $2.49 ones from cingular) but was wondering how many kilobytes they are, because I will be getting charged for that too. I know the polyphonic ones are around 10-16 kbs, but I figure the better, music tone ones are more KBs. Does anyone out there know for sure how many KBs they are?

i couldnt find an exact answer for you on the size of the supertones. but i do know the size should not be any larger that 30-40 kb on average.
the rate on wireless internet downloads is only 1/2 cent per Kb right now (if you have the pay per use internet) so the downloads will not be that expensive.

i work at a call center with cingular and the kb's for the music tones are between 50-60 kb's. if you have cingular internet pay per use it would be .60 cents[/b]

It actually depends on which phone you're talking about. In my experience, Samsung's C207 uses .mmf files. This seems to be used by quite a few brands. The good thing about they nicer (and more expensive) phones is they recognize .mp3 files. They are the easiest to trim down to ringtones.
