I didn't try flashing. I was too chicken. But I'd still love to be able to use amr's as ringtones, and if someone could absolutely confirm that flashing the phone (the firmware version would be nice!) will solve this problem, I might be tempted to try it.
Hey, Even with a phone that has been flashed. Such as my T610, it is not possible 2 set AMR as tones. should know this. Se wouldn't make any money on wap tones. Thee actual hardware in the phone cannot associate AMR with a call. Its has been designed not 2 work . Im as frustrated as u. Hoped this helped. Comander
It is complety firmware based feature. Not hardware. As u still can play amr tones. And i also belive it was a bug in the "release" firmware of the phone. I mean, i think SE from the first begining where planing on AMR tones. But ended up not having these. Also loudspeaker is also in the phone, but not implented when calling (or am i just blind that ive missed it?!!?!) and when u record a amr file, the phone uses a loudspeaker to play it up.
