Just got my samsung v200, i am very pleased with it except for the speaker quality, i don't mean the polyphonics, they are brill.
But when your speaking to someone on the phone i cannot go above volume 3, the sound starts to distort and break up at volume 4 and 5.
Also there always seems to be a background noise present while on the phone, like a sort of background hiss.
Now i did have a quick listen to another one in the shop the other day and it sounded the same. (i was in a bit of a rush)
The thing is no one else ever mentions this bad sound quality / noise in any forums, or in phone reviews, so i'm a bit confused.
Can some of you v200 owners shed any light on this please.
Thanks.....

I think there's been some mis-understanding from the previous reply by slvrlude. The Speaker in question is just the regular speaker at the top of the handset under the shell! Not a built in loudspeaker or any extra function, so fear not slvrlude, your phone is built with the same hardware as all the others.
In response to the original query, yes corky you're absolutely right about the speaker quality. The reason for me not posting the issue?.... I know it's not limited to my handset because I work at T-Mobile HQ!
I've been through many V200 handsets here at T-Mobile and each and every one loses vocal integrity after volume level 3, including the backround hiss you speak of.
Also coming to mention issues never posted, the CCD in the camera always has stuck pixels. Only noticable on dark backgrounds and when zoomed all the way, a few pixels remain blue-ish. I've been through about 4 phones today and all had at least two stuck pixels somewhere. At least they've never appeared on the actual TFT screen, only when viewing the camera.
Anyway, hope you feel a little better about your phone as the issue is not isolated to yourself.

Ok thanks for the replies.
Sorry for late reply here, i had to pop over to belfast for a couple of days work !!
That has put my mind at rest anyway, i thought i got a naff phone
I'm very suprised about the poor sound quality, especially from samsung.
I've had several nokia phones prior to this one and they were all superb in the sound department.
On a camera note, one thing i noticed the other day i was taking a picture with the phone in a night club type place and in dark lighting there was noisey horizontal lines across the screen. So some of my pics saved on the phone are noisey. ??
Anyway thanks guys...

I can confirm there is distortion with my sound as well though not much.
As to your noise in pictures. well the camera is only a small and relatively cheap feature. taking piccys in dark areas you will get noise. it is not a flaw/bug but just the camera cannot handle dark settings.
