Ok. This is weird...
So today I finally got my Samsung E715, it came shipped from the USA (I'm in Denmark - that's in Europe in case you're wondering . It has the T-mobile branding, and T-mobile firmware.
So according to everything I've read, and samsungs press material, this phone can't work on the European GSM 1800 network, because in america they use GSM 1900.
That's why I bought a data cable for it, so that I could load European firmware onto it, enabling it to work on the GSM 1800 network - but at the same time disabliing it from working on the American GSM 1900 network.
But when I turned it on for the very first time, it immediately picked up reception (full 5-6 bars), and showed the operator code on the display..!! I couldn't believe it, so I dialed my father just to be sure - he said I came through loud and clear....!
what gives?
