What are the particulars of using stock MIDI files and WAV files as ringtones? I got a few WAV files from my PC that I plopped onto the MMC card and the profiles recognized them immediately and play well. but if I put midi files on they do not show up despite the phone's ability to play the built-in MIDI files...
What gives?

What's up,
I think may be able to help you. When you download midi files, I believe they are zipped. Go to midi file icon you downloaded which should say the name of the song and looks like a folder with a zipper on it. Double click on it. It should open and you will see a windows media player icon. Right click on it, copy it, and then paste it in a folder you will be able to get to when you are transferring files through bluetooth/PC Suite ( I made a new folder which i named NOKIA DOWNLOADS ). Then connect your phone to the computer, open PC Suite and look for the folder you put it in. Send it to either the phone's memory or the memory card (I send it to the card) since it is no longer a zipped file it should appear in your ring tones as a "mid" file once you send it to your phone. Hopes this helps. IF you have anymore questions i'll be happy to try and help you....PEACE

Most of the midi-files have more than 4 tones (at one time)... Nokia only plays 4 tone (at one time)
Scale down the midi-file with PC Suite... there is a little prog in there which can do it.

3650 can play 24 channel in midi. Maybe your midi's channel higher than that. IF THEY DO, no sound will be play although it play well on the outsite(player). Try testing it by hitting pre-play as played in phone (in nokia sound converter) .Use nokia sound converter to check/edit the value. PLEASE read the help/manual in the sound converter...

The files were unzipped in *.mid format. I'm sure it could be the 4-instrument midi range that was alluded by the other poster... so, does anybody know any good Midi editors for Mac OS X?
