I have just brought a DCU-11 cable and installed the USB driver. Then I download file manager v.2.5.2.0b and Sync Station 1.2.9.1b from sonyericsson's homepage. When I am trying to access the phone memory by file manager, It always pop-up a message "connection error - unexepected error" (something like that) which means that I can't transfer data between my PC and K500i.

However, It work very well when I use Sync Station 1.2.9.1b to sync contacts, tasks, notes etc. between my PC and K500i. (That's means the connection of the USBcable and software, so as to the K500i don't not have any problem).

As a result, I suspected that file manager v.2.5.2.0b provided by sony ericsson have bug. Can anyone solve this problem so that I can copy my photos from K500i to my PC?? icon_smile.gif icon_smile.gif

And I want to know if other K500 and K700 series users have encountered the same problem?

at this moment i'm dealing with the same problem.
but decided to call the dutch helpdesk to ask them and tell me what to do.
frankly i haven't used filemanager software yet as you mentioned in your topic.

i hope there is a solution for this problem.

also i'm asking myself if there's a way to mute that irritating 'swish-clap'-sound that pops while taking a picture! Do you know how to mute that sound?

thnx in advance,

richard

I also suffer from the DCU problem. I downloaded different software and it works fine, I advise others to do the same.

Is the volume is set to 0, the shutter is silent, that's the only way I know of doing it.

I guess your screensaver is active. So, the communication between the cell phone and the usb cable is temporarily cut. Press any key of the phone and try again as soon as screen saver is disabled.

Sarin i'm having that same problem although I can at least store about 30 messages. It's not right though cause the phone has a 40MB memory!!

I just heard yesterday that the K700i has a software problem that Sony Ericsson know about. Aparentally they will replace it or fix it if you take it back to the store. I'll be taking mine back this week cause I just got the message again!! Its so annoying to have to delete stuff all the time!

1 or 2 messages?? Thats crazy!! Well, I hear the K700i is supposed to hold around 100 messages. Thats idiocy, considering it is capable of holding thousands and thousands of messages with the 41MB memory.

It happened to me again yesterday. Had too many messages - a screen comes up and says "Too many messages. Delete some from any folder?" I choose Yes, then it takes me to a folder list.... where it tells me there is:

0 in Inbox
0 in Sent
0 in Drafts
0 in Outbox

STUPID PHONE. So it doesnt let me enter any of these folders to actually delete any messages and free any space for the new message?!?!

I have no option but to exit this menu and return to the "desktop". Then a few minutes later - what'ya know - the message tries to come again. Same problem - "Too many messages" Delete? Yes... folder list... 0 Messages to delete.

To make matters worse, once I exit to the desktop - i can actually manually go in to my messages and delete stacks of them. I delete 50 of them... text messages and ALL picture messages.

And guess what... all of a sudden... "Too many messages" Delete? Yes... folder list... 0 Messages to delete.

I've tried deleting, moving, restarting the phone. Nothing.

The only way I got around it was moving my SIM Card (not sure if thats what they're called outside Australia?) to a new phone, then receiving the message there... then returning to my phone.

Its crazy. I'm taking my phone back tomorrow morning.

I also have another problem with it. When browsing numbers, I notice two people, next to each other in the list, have the same number... which I know is not true. Then when I call the one that I know is wrong - it calls and displays the correct number??!?!

Crazyness. I have no solution to any of this, except to take it back and complain.

Hope this is of some help.

Cheers,

Jayden

hi they have replaced my firware from r2l to r2ae ... and still this issue is existing , the service centre guys said that they will replace the phone for me and one more solution they gave was to change the sim card, even i get that delete messages message when i have no messages in my mobil, i guess its also a bug , but when i cancel it it does not come again

icon_sad.gif some features are good and phone is also good , but small issues really take breathe away ,lets hope they rectify and relase an firmware soon
