I am trying hard to find the english version of PCLink 2000.
On the Samsung site, one can only find the Korean version for the A660. Looking for different phone models (see SPH-I330), we can find the software in Spanish and in Portugese.
The links on Don's site (www.geocities.com/don_x1) are broken but Don seems kind enough to send copies to those having a FTP address.
I found PCLink 1.0 (See SCH A670 on Samsung's web site) and it seems to work in part but I have a message saying that my phone is not supported and that I should get an update of PCLink.
Why is the english version so hard to find ? Is it because it is going to be commercialized ?
Anyone can help me ?

How do we get in contact with Don so we can obtain this software? I just bought a a660 and cable and am not impressed the ebayer lead me to believe all i needed was a software which I can not read.
also I installed drivers for my phone but they dont seem to work... any one have any links.
I just want to upload ringtones!

I do not know how to get in contact with Don. I found many posts from him as well as his website address in this forum. He seems to be the only person having an english version of the software.
I found USB drivers for the A660 at the following address:

The drivers seem to work as I can communicate with PCLink 1.0

Hi! my name's Yoselin, well my friends call me Kata....
and hmm...I'm having difficulties problems with my cellphone, like when someone sends me a picture its saved in my inbox..supposely it saves by itself right?, well like in couple of days, it had deleted by itself, and i didnt deleted at all., and well...idk why i cant send pictures to my friends, like it says send, but they dont receive it, any suggestions why? well my friend had called T-mobile and had said that its cause of the service not cause of the phone, but still now her phone can send it, but mines cant, which i guess cause my phone is broken or something?  , well also what im having problems is that when my friend send me her picture, you go to options..and it says you can save it..but i didnt know i would go to the wallpaper category..i thought it was going to go...to my pictures album, but it didnt..and im having difficult..cause like the picture that my friend send me that was deleted by itself..well i had saved it before..when it was still in my inbox..but now that ...that picture is gone...well when i search for the wallpaper category..and it hit to where that picture was saved...it shows like a downloading tube..and than it freezes..and nothing..it just stays like that, but i turned it off and back on, but nothing still the same thing. any suggestions by its doing that? oh also..how come this phone doesnt have to many...options..like for deleting...wallpapers or such? which it sucks also, and how can you turn off the taking pictures sound? it always makes this noice...that its just to loud even if you pute the volume in mute, and answers for any of my questions?

im korean..so i got pclink 2000 but it doesnt support vi660 >_< im not sure tho..

I downloaded PCLink 2000 from Don's web site. It took some time due to the limit Geocities put on downloads.
I was quite disapointed when I found that PCLink 2000 does not support model A660.
I decided to forget about all this. I am just going to use the telephone for what it is intended for: call and answer

I got the BitPim software to work on a A660 by following some of the advice here:

First, I didn't have to edit the amsregistry file. You do have to delete it and let it rebuild itself. I did not have to delete the EndTransaction file.
The keys for me were this:
Save a cnts.gcd file from your phone (right click) to your hard drive, edit it, and then use "save as" to save it. Don't ever hit the enter key in the gcd file - that puts the wrong line breaks in the file.
Use a live link in the gcd file. You can make the link by using this page:
http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/
Create the link, and copy it into the gcd file, or the gcd file will never work. You must have a live link.
Use GCD Creator (referred to by the first link I gave) to create a gcd file. Then look in the created file and take the size of the file from it to copy into your real gcd file (the gcd file from your phone that you will "save as")
I was initially confused by the instructions here, and I wonder if other are:

He says to rename the image file or music file as a cnts file. I found out that this doesn't mean that you have to change any names in the gcd file. Leave those alone - just change the live link and the size.

the default is 000000 ... hope that helps
