First, I didn't have to edit the amsregistry file. You do have to delete it and let it rebuild itself. I did not have to delete the EndTransaction file.
The keys for me were this:
Save a cnts.gcd file from your phone (right click) to your hard drive, edit it, and then use "save as" to save it. Don't ever hit the enter key in the gcd file - that puts the wrong line breaks in the file.
Use a live link in the gcd file. You can make the link by using this page:
http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/
Create the link, and copy it into the gcd file, or the gcd file will never work. You must have a live link.
Use GCD Creator (referred to by the first link I gave) to create a gcd file. Then look in the created file and take the size of the file from it to copy into your real gcd file (the gcd file from your phone that you will "save as")
I was initially confused by the instructions here, and I wonder if other are:
http://home.comcast.net/~jna03/a660/
He says to rename the image file or music file as a cnts file. I found out that this doesn't mean that you have to change any names in the gcd file. Leave those alone - just change the live link and the size.
Good luck. |

I wanted to remove it and wait till i read the directions again so I ejected the icon and disconnected it. when I unplugged it it read error you must eject the device before disconnecting. but I already did. so I plugged it back in and nothing. the phone did not read usb in use and my computer can't find the device?? can someone help me please!!!!

Hi, i know this link has been long since dead for about a year now but i'm just hoping there are still people viewing it like i am.
Lately i've been trying to upload games to samsung a660 using Bitpim's latest version and a cheap cord i bought off ebay. However the version does not support the upload of games and for the life of me i can't figure out how. I have managed to do ring tones and contact information all that stuff but there is no way for me to upload to the games directory.
I tried traversing through the Filesystem directory on bitpim and making a subdirectory under apps/games cntsX, where X is the next avialable number, i placed the jad, jar files in this folder, but there is no way in bitpim to send this information back to the phone. The Send phone data button brings up the options Phonebook, Calender, Wallpaper, Ringtone, Memo, Todo, and Greyed out options SMS, Call History, Play List, T9 User DB.
So there is no way to update the changes in the Filesystem that i know of.
The link "mentioned throughout this thread (comcast/~jna03/a660)" which everyone seems to point to for information on uploading games to the a660 has since been terminated. Is this written down anywhere cause i would like to know how to transfer games?
Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff
