I got my data cable from eforcity.com through eBay and after installing it was very dissapointed because there was no software to be found that would recognize my phone. Finally I realized the problem was not with the phone or software it was the supplied drivers. Weird things were happening. If I plugged the data cable into one of my USB ports the phone would be recognized as a CDMA modem on COM3. If I plugged the cable into another USB port my PC would see the phone as a composite serial device or something like that. Using both setups I tried to connect to my phone using EasyGPRS (the program that the eforcity website will work with the phone), PCLink 2000 (I found an english version of this on Don's geocities website from this forum) DataPilot and some FutureDial software. None of them would recognize my phone.
However, after updating the DataPilot software which I found to be the only software to support the phone directly in the program, I used DataLink's USB drivers instead. Now my phone is recognized as BOTH a Samsung CDMA modem as well there is a USB virtual serial port in my device manager. I was able to connect to my phone with DataPilot and download, edit and upload my address book. The DataPilot software says it does not support any other features other than the contacts.
I have now tried EasyGPRS with these new drivers and the software will connect to the phone but is unable to read any messages.
PCLink 2000 will try to connect to the phone but just hangs at the connection screen.
The FutureDial's website says that the "Samsung VI660" is supported which apparently is the same as the SPH-A660 but within the software itself the phone is not listed and is unable to detect my phone.
All in all I guess the DataPilot software is the only one I could get to connect to my phone. It supports the features it says it does (which is only the phone book manager) and nothing more. I cannot get images or melodies onto my phone, yet.
**EDIT: I finally realized people are having trouble finding the software because I USED THE WRONG NAME! It is not DataLink, it is DataPilot. Sorry for the extreme confusion.

You mentioned in your post that only the DataLink software works. Where can get this software?
PC Link 2000 does not work for me either.

You have to pay for it, however I did not and was able to find it on a very popular P2P network using very popular-but-now-illegal software.

who makes it? I've done a web search and come up empty.
Bell Mobility are of course no help at all. They stock the data cable but have no clue how I can actually use it.
Thx.

I finally got around to checking my initial post which I see has become stickied. First time for everything I guess. Anyway, here is a link to the software I had mentioned. BTW it is not DataLink but DataPilot.

Thanks - I did some serious searching on the weekend and discovered Datapilot.
Now all I need is a way to download ringtones, but I'm getting a sense it isn't possible on the A660/VI660 as none of the software seems to anything other than the phone book.

Can anyone tell me where to get PClink 2000?
I see a reference to "Don's Geocities website" but I can't locate it.
Many thanks,
Rob R.
