Need help. I was just transferring some AAC files from my PC to my phone. After this, I moved all the files from the MUSIC FILES folder of my phone to the memory card. The music files folder would normally be empty after transferring all its contents but now it indicates there that 1.7 MB of memory space is still used. But when I would open the music files folder, EMPTY would appear. When I read the available memory space on my phone, it also appears 1.7 MB smaller than it should be. Does this mean that my phone memory had been corrupted? How do I fix this? Now I can't seem to use that 1.7 MB memory space on my phone...Help please, anyone?

If you really mean the phones memory and not the MMC:
It is shared memory, everything can/will be saved in the memory: games, apps, contacts, text and multimedia messages, pictures, videoclips,...
If you want a complete empty memory, you should erase everything and de-install every app and game

I have the same problem. I transferred some mp3-files to my phone and then moved them to the memory card. Now the size of the MUSIC FILES folder is still 3.1MB, but it's EMPTY! I also can't use this 3.1MB. How do I fix this?

I send my problem by e-mail to Nokia and they said that I have to remove the battery and the SIM for at least half an hour to reset the phone. This should solve it. Unfortunately, it didn't.
Is there already someone who does have the solution to this problem?

I have the same problem. I am 3Mb down in available space because it is telling me my Tones folder has 3Mb in it even though I can see it is empty!!
Someone must have a solution? Surely?

Took my phone in to the Nokia shop and was told the only way to sort memory loss was to re-install software. Downside was I had to save everything I had in the phone memory to the mmc card before the software install but the plus side was the latest software which had a few improvements and additional features.
My advice would be that when transferring large files, such as mp3, would be to send them straight to the mmc card rather than the phone memory as the mmc card can be formatted easily whereas the phone memory has to be taken to the shop. Alternatively add a folder to the phone memory (such as "Temp") which can be deleted if need be (as "Images""Tones" etc are read only folders and cannot be deleted.
Hope this helps.
