Ok I am thinking that this no longer works? I tried to email my VX7000 a .mid I also tried a .gif. I emailed them (seperatly) to myphone#@vzwpix.com. I get a message on my phone that says
"You've got a PIX or FLIX message! To see it, visit www.vzwpix.com from an internet accessible computer and follow the instructions. This ia a FREE MESSAGE."
So I go there and the messages are there, but they never actually send the files to my phone. I then tried to send them via vzwpix.com but it just sends the same message to my phone and doubles the message in the inbox on vzwpix.com
Am I doin somthing wrong here? Did verizion catch on to this and fixed it so it can't be done? Some help would be appreiciated...

Do all these methods of transferring created ringtones/wallpapers still work?
Im going from Nextel to Verizon and am thinking of buying a LGVX7000. My Nextel contract expires June 23rd.
Quick help is needed and much appreciated.

here is a step by step instruction.
requirements:
lg vx7000 or newer
verizon phone
1) clip down the file so that it is less than 350kb. it can be any length, or bitrate it doesnt matter. for some reason not all mp3 cutter and joiners will work for this. the mp3 editor i found to work the best is mp3 workshop but that is only a free trial and i wouldnt pay for it
2) once you have an mp3 file made that is less than 350kb you must open it in media player. once open you must go to file>save as... once there you change the file extension from .mp3 to .mid(make sure it is all lowercase) and save it somewhere.
3) once saved go to your email account and attatch the .mid file to the email. the address should be "yourphonenumber@vzwpix.com" make sure you dont add the 1 before the area code.
4)press send and momentarily your phone should say receiving pix message. sometimes i have had it take up to 15 minutes for my phone to recieve the message so have patience. if it doesnt receive in half an hour then resend it.
well thats it good luck with your ringtones

u can also keep it as an mp3 file and the phone will save it as a .qcp file which will work because they are compatable but it wont sound nearly as good as a .mid

If you want a better way of recording try this.
I used iPod earbuds for this. On your ipod put the volume at about 60% high. Then pause it at whatever part you want recorded and put the bud at about 1centimeter away from the mic on the phone. Press record and then play on the iPod. Sounds way better then recording them from speakers. Not as great as buying. But it sounds better.

So what happens if you don't cut the song to 30 seconds? Can you put a WHOLE song into the LGVX7000?
