I have allot of success in dowloading the polyphonic ringtones from 'Get It Now' off of my phone, however, I want the mp3 versions of my ringtones. I want my ringer to sound like it's playing off of the radio. I don't have a data cable, etc but heard that there was a way to do it without the data cable, etc. Does anyone know how to do it?
If I have to get a data cable... let me know. Also, let me know how easy it is to do it via data cable if that is the best way.
Thanks much for your help.

You can download it from get it now using the Sony Music Box. However this costs $4 each song you want to download. (In MP3 format) I would suggest investing the $20 - $30 in a data cable. (shop around) That way you can also change it as often as you want without having to pay that nasty fee for every song.

Thanks for the response. If i get the data cable, can I just download clips from downloaded songs off of my computer or will I still need to go through a special ringtone website?

Theres no need to go through any special website. All you have to do is use a program such as bitpim to upload any MP3 you have directly on to the phone. (You may have to clip it first for size, because of the memory limitations of the phone.)

You can also email ringtones to your phone. If you have an mp3 that you would like to use as a ringtone, clip it to about 30 seconds. You should also change the bitrate to 64kpbs and the frequency to 22k with an mp3 editor. After you have the mp3 file ready, change the extension from mp3 to mid, so that the file should look like "file.mid" Then attach the file to an email and send it to "yourphonenumber@vzwpix.com" Your phone should alert you that it has received a new pix message. Open the message and you should hear your ringtone. Then just save the attachment to your phone as a sound and it will appear in your ringtones menu. It will cost you .25 cents to send the email, but that's alot cheaper than paying for a ringtone through Get It Now.

I think there is a size limit. What size are th files that you are sending? are you sending more than one at a time?

How exactly do you change mp3's to .mid? Everyone states it as if it is the most simple instruction, yet I can't figure out how to do it.
Thanks!

Ok, Mr. Sneaky here...
How about this one, change the file extension of your MP3 files from .mp3 to .mid and upload them through the PIX PLACE website. I tried changing it with the DOS editor, but it wasn't a good way to change it. If anyone knows of an application to change the extension on files, let us know, because this should work.
