Doe anyone know, if I dropped my phone in a swimming pool and it doesn't work. Can I pay the $50 deductible and get a new phone? I have the insurance. Will they want the drowned phone?
Also, do they require a police report or something if a phone is lost or stolen?
Thanks

You can call the insurance #: 1-877-646-7874
If you have insurance (Total Equipment coverage =4.99 )
You can call that number pay the $50 deductable and they send you a new phone... usually if you make the call early in the day, it will arrive the next day.

Are you certain the phone isn't still under warranty? You can take it to the Verizon store and they can replace it.
Otherwise I think if you were to drop it "accidentally" you could pay the deductible and get a new one. Check the policy, but don't make up a story that the phone was stolen. You don't want to mess with fraud.

I submitted a claim to the insurance company used by verizon. the key I to explain that your phone suffered physical damage - stopped working after it was dropped, water damage. the insurance does not cover wear and tear or repairs if it just stops working. If the claim gets denied, call verizon customer service. I pushed them to interceed. they bumped the claim up the authorty chain at the ins company by threatening to refund my 2 years of ins payments and charge them back. if you don't get a helpful verizon rep, call back. like any service business some folks are better than others. call during the day, usually more experienced staff get the day shift.
