Please help me out. I did a search on this forum and did not find the answer I was looking for, so I decided to post.
I have a Nokia N-Gage and I am trying to connect it to my computer via the USB cable provided with the phone. I installed the bundled software (PC Suite for N-Gage) to communicate with the phone, but it does not detect my phone!
I opened the "Nokia Connection Manager" and selected USB connection, but it remained on "no phone detected."
When I open PC Suite, it tells me to connect my phone and click ok. However, when I click ok nothing happens, and I am unable to bypass that window.
The phone is detecting the USB connection, because it is displaying a little USB icon when I hook it up.
There is nothing wrong with the USB port because I use other USB devices on them with no problems.
Please help me, I bought this phone anticipating connecting it to my PC and this is extremely disheartening.

After more research, I realize that PCsuite will not work with the USB cable.
However, the PC is not detecting the N-Gage at all, in explorer or the connection manager.
PLEASE HELP!!!

The usb cable does not work with the pc suite. Also, no additional s/w is required for the usb cable to work.
when the cable is plugged in for the first time, win xp automatically installs the necessary drivers. When u plug in the usb cable again, it shows up as a removable hard disk in My Computer.

As abhishta has written above:
PC Suite won't work with the cable. The cable allows you only to upload stuff directly to the MMC, like a card reader. Nothing more.
PC Suite will only work with Bluetooth or IrDA!
