My GSM network doesn't have WAP enabled so I was wondering if it's possible to just use my home dial-up settings on the T630 to check my email. I tried already but keep getting a server-connection error.
Sub-question:
My phone is also branded to high hell with i-TIM (some italian company), so I can't change alot of my WAP settings, would this affect the dial-up issue, and does anyone know of a non-flash method of getting rid of this crap?
Thanks

Hi,
im not quite sure what you meant but did you mean is it possible to browse the net on your computer via your cell phone?
If so, the most appropriat mothod is via Bluetooth or Datacable. IrDa is also possible, however, the speed will probably be around 9.6 Kbit/s (around 1KByte/s) This is very slow and this is usually the speed of WAP. After that, you need to set up your computer to use the phone as a modem. you can contact SE for this as i cannot guide you through the process because each phone and OS have different mothods. Ive tried this my self using a T610 and windows XP. I used IrDa, which turned out to be very slow. Windows XP automatically detected a modem via Infrared and installed it. this may also work for you and may require the driver. After all thats done, you simply dial-up to the internet as you would normally. charge rate will be like making a normal phone call.
Regarding your other problem, im not the one to ask. Sorry
If you need anymore help, you can simply reply back

Thanks but that's not exactly what I meant, I want to use my dial-up account (username//password and access number) on my cell phone by itself, no PC involved.

i dont think thats possible, besides, you will make no use of it. the username and password assigned to your dialup can only be used with a COMPUTER, not a cellphone and another thing, seeing as that your operator doesn't support WAP, try another company. if there are none other, then i guess you paid extra (practically) for somthing you wont use.
if you need any other help, simply hit the postreply and type away your problem

You can indeed get dial up internet access on your SE 630. Check this link:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=ca&lc=en&ver=4000&template=ps1_ 1_1_2&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&pid=10117
SE has an automatic ISP configurator. You set it on the web page and it will automatically send you message with the settings which you install (provided your ISP is supported).
