OK well I know the phone works on the 850/1900 frequency and thats what they have listed as being compatible with.
I was suggested to go ahead and try unlocking it with WINimei which I will do and once I found out whether it works or not Ill let you guys know.
You think I should try flashing it or is that dangerous Ive never done that.

The flashes I currently have available are only the version of the firmware after cerebros has already been used on them. It would be no different than what you currently have running on your phone. I would still suggest WinIMEI, as that is what I used the very first time I did mine and it has been completely unlocked since that. If that doesn't work, the compatibility may be for models purchased in that country. I am not very familiar with international use of phones, but I will see what I can find out.
As for the Cerebros issue, the port should automatically select itself. This could be a problem with the cable then. I would suggest trying winIMEI for that also, as that allows you to select the port you want to use.

Phone Model: Samsung X427 Flashed to X427M Rev 1.2
Service Provider: T-Mobile |

Hello,
I'm getting a headache over this. I have a Samsung X427 with firmware revision 1.7. It's locked to Cingular, and I want to use it with T-mobile. I tried everything in this post, nothing worked. I spent a few days already trying to unlock this. For the codes that i put in, it says "Wrong Entry", and the usb cable i got doesn't seem to communicate with any of these software. I got two options left, either try and get a serial cable, or pay some website (like the first one that shows up on google) that provided your IMEI gives you an unlocking code. I really don't know what else to do.

Well, just got my usb cable, installed the drivers, assinged the communications to com1, and no luck with any of the softwares , celebros 1.5 I don't even know how to work it, it doesn't have an interface, it just has a batch file that does nothing but register whatever the heck that is , and WINIME doesn't communicate with the phone, I get Fail when I follow the directions posted earlier on this forum. As far as the last post with the x427, I think I know what is going on . Aparently the mayor providers (like AT&T cingular ext.) block the communication to the phone from the communication wire to the computer, wiered huh? Well, I just proved the theory. Every time I turn off or on the phone, I am able to communicate with it, until it turns off completely or is on after the AT&T logo. I know this because I have a software that reads the phone info "Optiflash 4.14T" and it is able to communicate to the phone in the "in between" stages of turning on or off the phone. I wish I could find a way to freeze up the phone while it's turning on so I can constantly communicate with it. I also installed the Easy GPRS from samsung's website and it installs the modem driver for the phone, and the only way I can get a query from the phone, is when it's.... .. you guessed it, TURNING ON or OFF Someone out there must know the truth

Hi, I have a Samsung x426 and I cannot recall my Lock password.
Currently, when turned on, the phone says:
Phone Locked
Enter Password
How can I get access to my phone? Any help would be great.
Thank you in advance.

I get the exact same thing with my usb cable as win2kpioneer above. I'm not sure if it's the provider locking out the phone or if it's the cable. But whatever, I already ordered an oem serial cable, and i hope it has that swtich . For now, all I use the usb cable is for charging (since my phone didn't have a charger). Well, keep posted, I'll write again after I test the serial cable, and see if it works.

Now before I get you all excited, I must mention, that this worked on a Samsung X426 version 1.6. I did the #0111*xxxxxxxx# where x is 0 in my case, and it WORKED . The bad news is that this code is also known for messing up phones for good and then you'll get a message that says "Phone is locked, Please Service" in that case you must enter: *2767*STACKRESET# into the idle screen and allow it to full reboot your phone. Sometimes this might not work either, and then you'll have to either look for a way to reprogram the phone with a cable, or take it to your nearest cell phone shop to get it reprogramed . Good luck out there with your phones guys, and remember, if you really want to use the phone, then don't give up! You might just get lucky like I just did. Well, I am gana play with my new phone , good luck unlocking your phones people.

ooh and before I forget, try this Braton "it might or might not work, I saw this on another posting"
*#9998*3323#......this will TEMPORARILY unlock most samsung phones.....
1. put in the sim card of the provider you want
2. punch in this code
3. scroll down to malloc fail and hit ok
4. you are now using a different provider on your phone
5 HOWEVER...if you power off your phone this code will undo itself and you must redo all of the steps again. Have Fun.

Thanks a lot, It unlocked the phone, but but it still asked for the password when the phone was turned back on.
I did a full factory reboot of the phone, after unlocking it, and it works perfectly now without any type of lock or password on the phone, with a different of same SIM card.
Thanks.
