Hi all,
Thanks for all the S/W & information from this site and Roswell's site I was able to update 2- Cingular X427 to X427M.
I used a USB data cable and it worked fine on one, it completed with no errors "all is well", the second one ended with a error code with 5 second left but phone seems to work fine.
I'm having a problem using the Celebros 1.5 to change back my IMEI, it seems like it completes (done) but *#06# gives all zero's.
xXxSAMSUNGxXx, on a previous post you mention that you have the original version. Can you please email me a copy..Id appreciate it. hopefully that version will work.
Is there a different program to change back my IMEI??

3) Is it compatible with Samsung x426

Yep, flashed my 426 to the 427m v1.2. Just let to you know that this flash file has a cingular startup. Now my question is can one change this or does anyone know where I can find a unlocked 427m flash file with a Rogers startup/shutdown? |
There isnt one because Rogers doesnt make the 427m. You can edit out the Cingular stuff with Januka though. I replaced it with images from my Rogers firmware because I have a couple of the phones.

Use cerebros to adjust IMEI back to factory, just type in IMEI beside the button that say's Write New IMEI, press the write new imei button and your done.
P.S. I attempted to send you the old version of cerebros but im having a hard time sending it to you. Nothing sends it because everything states that it contains a virus, hence the reason Rosewell took it off the site.

sorry im new to this whole thing. And im not very good with most technical stuff. But I have a samsung sgh e317, and for some reason it all of a sudden said "enter PUK". and I tried entering a number, then it said enter Pin, then Confirm Pin. Finally I pushed ok and it said "Wrong PUK, Try Again." I cannot get it to unlock. i dont know if there's anything i can do myself. I looked on the cingular website and it said something about sending it in and it would take 4-6 weeks at the samsung place. but that's too long, i really need it working. If anyone could help me please, I really need help!

I am having the same cable as you do and indeed Cerberos doesnt want to work with it !! The only cause I can think of is that USB cable usually sticks to COM 2 or 3 or 4 ( depending on your system) whereas Cerberos is "hardcoded" to work with COM1 (serial port). I might be wrong though ..... If I knew how to change the port on Cerberos It would be an easy task to change IMEI but since I don't .....

xXxSAMSUNGxXx,
I used cerberos 1.5 with a USB data cable and it seen like it completed but when I check with *#06# its still all zero's. Do I need a serial data cable? (PCB093LBE).
Thanks,
Othater

ka3ak,
It is possible to change the usb cable to use COM1. First of all, you have to free up COM1 which is usually used by the RS232 port. Go to Device Manager. Right click on Communication Ports (COM1) and select Properties. Select Port Settings tab. Click Advanced button. Change COM Port Number to other COM that is not in use. Now COM1 is freed. Do the same thing to the usb cable and assign it to COM1.
If it works, then disregard the following.
If it doesn't work, then it is probably related to the fact that when using Cerebros to set the IMEI #, the switch on the serial cable has to be put in D/L position. The switch will determine and change which signals from the phone's connector to be used by the cable. In other words, different signal pins are use for Data and D/L. Unfortunately, usb cable only use the signal pins same as the Data of the serial cable. Nothing is available for D/L for usb. If my understanding is correct. You have to use serial cable but not usb for Cerebros.

Strange that my post never shows up until I post an additional post. I went to my profile and I can find my post and it is the first post on page 35 of 34. There is a bug here in this thread. After I added this post, page 35 can show up, but when I delete this post, page 35 disappeared again.
