Hi, my provider is the devil/Cingular. Last year I added a media package for 10.00/month on both my line and my son's line. Well all of a sudden the last two months, 1700.00 worth of media charges showed up my bill incurred by my son.
I call Cingular today because they shut my phone off due to "excess use" (LOL), ask them what the hell is going on.after going a few rounds with some idiot who kept repeating to me that my son's line does NOT have the media package, she said that she doesn't even see where I ordered it!
(It's amazing though, that when I added the package to both of those lines, this was about July/06, no internet charges incurred until the past two months, but REALLY I never had the package in his line)! OK
So I ask how I can make a payment arrangement on this, just to get the phone turned back on, she transfers me to accounting, who tell me that I can't make payment arrangements on this. After starting to cry and so on, she tells me, "sorry, I understand you are upset, but we cannot make a payment arrangement on this high of a bill." (!)
So this is what I want to do:
Change providers.
My questions:
Are my phones locked to Cingular?
If so, will cancelling my contract "unlock" them?
If I call up andc ancel my contract, will it be obvious that I'm cancelling due to the problems discussed earlier, and with that, would they possibly NOT unlock my phone even if I cancel the contract?
After all is said and done, how the heck to I unlock them then?
Thanks in advance for the input.

This unlock code should work for Samsung T619 if you follow carefully:
1-Put the non T-Mobile SIM card in the phone.
2- Turn on the phone, "wrong sim" should appear on the screen.
3-Dial *2767*3855# and wait. The phone will reboot, and the non T-Mobile SIM card in the phone will work, but this is only a temporary unlock step
4-Dial *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#.The phone will say it is personalized.
5-Dial #7465625*638*00000000# .The phone is now unlocked permanently.
6-Dial *#7465625# to check the lock status.
Good luck

Can anyone tell me how to unlock my Samsung 427m phone? It seems like I need the Cerebros software and a cable? I can't find the software online--if anyone could send it to me at natashasf@hotmail that would be great (or post a link here). Thanks!
