As I said in the reply to your email: Read the first post of this thread and also check under the firmware section for the post "Firmware and Flashers Part 1" to get instructions for unlocking and how to use optiflash to flash the firmware. If, after you read those, you have a specific question.... then I can probably help you. The instructions are posted, though, and they will be far more helpful than me trying to throw together an explanation. As for your question about the cable. Yes, you need a cable to flash and to use an unlocking program.

Thanks,
I have 7 that are version 1.6. I ordered a cable that comes with games, ringtones, and unlocking software.
I just want to make sure this will work once I get it.
Thanks!

Cerebros, WinIMEI, any one that works (use the q100 setting if yours is not listed for unlocking)

make sure you have the right port selected. your phone should freeze from the process.

Ahh, I had to put the cable to D/L not Data. Unlocked 3 already.
This is my last question. Which companys does this work with? Cingualr, At&t, Verison, Sprint, Nextel....?
Thanks again,
Tony
