I've been trying to install a to-do list application to my v600. The file is in *.jar or *.jad. I've downloaded them to my pc but don't know how to install it to the phone. I've also ried to browse these site's via the phone's browser but still unable to download or activate them. Help
How do I install them? and then activate them??
Thanks in advance, Roger

Via Bluetooth, you open up your device and drag-and-drop the .jar file into "OBEX Object Push on [yourphone]". After a few moments, your phone will bleep and warn you that someone is trying to send you a file, and whether you want to accept the transfer. Accept. You'll get a message informing you that the file is received and whether you want to install. Install. It will give you one more notification with more detials. Install again. Then you should be able to run it.
Say. What application is it that you're trying to install? A to-do list sounds like a useful thing to have... Tell us more.

Sorry, Roger. I've not got enough experience with the datacable to answer your questions regarding it. I suspect it is possible to install programs via datacable, though.
Hearabouts, bluetooth USB dongles cost around thirty dollars. They come with software you'll need to transfer audio, pictures and vidio to/from your phone and to install Java aps. You will not be able to synchronize contacts and callendar or do serious editing of your phone's memory without a datacable and other software.
Thank you for the link, though.

When I drag my JAR to the "OBEX Object Push on Motorola Phone" for the Bluetooth connection for my V600, I get the "copying file" folder graphics and then, eventually, an error message saying "The item could not be sent to Motorola Phone. Error: Error establishing connection"
Has anyone had the same problem or know of how to get around this? Thanks!

Have you tried to convert the file to jad using jadmaker?

Hmmm - I didn't use the JADmaker although I did edit my JAD file by hand to make sure it works okay over-the-air, after it was auto-generated by the compiler.
However, from the documentation and postings, my understanding is that only the JAR file is dragged over for the Motorola V600 so I didn't think the JAD file would be relevant. Is it?
