Hey I just upgraded my old vx6000 to a vx7000 and on my vx6000 I was able to dl off ringtone websites the file of the ringtone and then email to yourphonenumber@vzwpix.com and it would be instantly sent and uploaded to my phone but with my new vx7000 it says Attatchment dropped or no picture or sound found. I want to know if anyone out there can help me find a site where I can get ringtones that play the real song on my phone or if they know how to email it to the phone correctly. I am starting to think they never made a type of new format for the vx7000 so that I can actually play those type of ringtones on my phone. Im also now considering the new motorola 710 please help me with my problem, and thanks for responding.

You can also email ringtones to your phone. If you have an mp3 that you would like to use as a ringtone, clip it to about 30 seconds. You should also change the bitrate to 64kpbs and the frequency to 22k with an mp3 editor. After you have the mp3 file ready, change the extension from mp3 to mid, so that the file should look like "file.mid" Then attach the file to an email and send it to "yourphonenumber@vzwpix.com" Your phone should alert you that it has received a new pix message. Open the message and you should hear your ringtone. Then just save the attachment to your phone as a sound and it will appear in your ringtones menu. It will cost you .25 cents to send the email, but that's alot cheaper than paying for a ringtone through Get It Now.

This is what I do. I use a data cable to transfer all my ring tones, video's,& pic's to my computer,. I don't see spending money to email, when you can spend 23.00 at radio shack for the cable, dowload the software/drivers free and get all the tones, pic's wall papers you want.

I am having serious problems with this also. I was told first off, just email the MP3's. That didn't work as I got the same 'attachement dropped' message. Then I tried to change the extension on the MP3's to .mid and now I get 'Failed to Play Pix Message' as an error... Any ideas?

I already consulted and posted in the threads that you are sending us to. What I found is that it's NOT working. So, please read the thread and the question before you repost...
I am getting the 'converted MP3' file to the phone, but it will NOT play the sound. The message is received, but before I can save and change the extension back - as stated in your thread referal, it gives me the error message.
So, if anyone knows what is causing this particular error, just let me know. I know alot of people would love to get MP3 rings on their phones.

OK. I have been messing around with the whole .mp3 adjusting file size and freq. and all that jazz off of the forums. All I have found is that Verizon has personaly modified the phones software when you originally *228 the phone. They will over the air modify everything. If you can avoid this and call LG to manually program your phone the the MIN and MAX and the MDN. and Local SID. I bet you could do anything. I was just talking with Verizon. Even though the 8000 supports and 7000 supports the .mp3's. They have made it such that you can't transfer files bigger than a certain size through the data cable or through email. I will experiment more using LG's support and maybe Susteen's (DATA cable co.) I will report back anything I find out. I miss my V710 with the transflash card. You can have anything and use it.

Thanks to everyone here! I know have the guitar solo from Bohemian Rhapsody as my ringer!
It took a couple of trials and errors, but afterwords it worked.
I used AV music morpher gold to clip it, and make it bad quality. whatever software u use, if you cn, save it as mono, not stereo. it cuts file size. With the VX 7000, you don't even need to change it to a .mid file! it can play MP3's!
Make sure your file size is lower than 350kilobytes, or else you won't be able to save it.
If you just want to be able to listen to the song, i reccomend just emailing the entire song, and just never delete the message! you wont be able to save the song to your phone for ringer purpses, but if you just want to listen to your favorite song, who cares!
And if youre going to use it as your ringer, make sure it's no more than 30 seconds long, cuz during the call it will get cut off.
