Hello,

I have just bought a Samsung E710 phone by Vodaphone from ebay. Can you tell me where can I find some tutorial for replacing the menu (I think it's called firmware) with the original one from Samsung, because this one personalised for Vodafone is really a crap.

Please give me some hints or a link where I can find the answer to this questions:

1. What cable do I need?
2. Which software should I get, and from where?
3. What should I do with them?

Maybe someone here who allready do that, can chat with me on Yahoo Messenger, or post a review here.

Thanks in advance.

OK, I have found some tools HERE.

I got these firmware for E710:
E710XXDE5 (from 27.06.2004)
E710XXDF4 (from 30.07.2004)

I also download OptiFlash 3.7.0.1 and the Picture-Table for firmware E710CPDE4, but I coudn't find the Picture-Table for the E710XXDF4 firmware which i would like to use.

I even don't know what this Picture-Table is? Do I realy need it?

Isn't there anyone here to help me?

The cable you need is the PCB093LBE. You don't need a Picture table.
http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic4919.html here is hor to use Optiflash.

OK, I got the software, and tomorrow I will receive the serial cable. I want to ask if there will be a problem if there will be blackout, or a hardware failure, or something like that, and the flash process will be suddenly stopped by something.

Will I be able to flash it again, or it will be damage for life?

Hello adi82 ,

I saw that you have the E710 with DF4 firmware. Is there something I should know about this version? Everything is working fine, or it has some bugs that I should know, and how can the bugs can be fixed if they are present?

Thanks.

Hi MagnuM, Jenny here.

I guess I am on the same boat like you, Vodafone Menus and want to flash to normal generic Samsung firmware right? Once you have completed the process, could you please post on this thread the steps you took, the version of firmware/software/OS used and any problems you encountered?

Thank you so much. icon_razz.gif

OK, Jenny, I think tomorrow I will do it, since I just don't have the cable right now. I hope not to encounter any problems.

Anyway you could here: http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic4919.html

It a good tutorial, and I will use the info provided there by Don.
