Could anybody tell me if these instructions work for a V635? I'm a bit worried that if I do all this it could leave me with a broken phone. Is this possible?
Thanks.

Hey there, I recently installed pst 7.2.3, and it installed flawlessly onto xp sp2 and ran perfectly aswell.
I get passed the "suspending phone" part, and onto the getting kjava thing, but then it pops up saying it cant read it.
Any ideas?
Much appreciated,
Coz.

This is what I did and I have a Motorola v220. But this should also work with any V*** phone.
(((BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING CREATE A RESTORE POINT CAUZ YOU MIGHT NEED IT))) (Start -> All programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore)
1. Go to Microsoft windowsupdate website (www.windowsupdate.com).
2. Download all the latest updates ***EXCLUDING*** the SP2 (Most of my porgrams arent compatible with SP2)
3. When you done restart the computer as usual and go to the windows update site and check for the updates again. (Sometimes there are updates that you cant get without installing the ones before that). So keep going back and install everything, restarting the computer after each turn untill it says 0 updates left. (But again, I didnt install SP2)
4. You will need Motorola PST 7.1.1. (It was a pain in @ss finding it. Every website I go, I have to pay money and become a member. But then after about 2 hours I found this site.
-->SO... go to http://www.-edited-
5. The file you download would be a *.rar file. If you cant extract it go to www.ultimatezip.com and download the Ultimatezip program and extract the file.
6. Install it by running "PST_7.1.1_GENERAL.exe" and after the installation select restart now. But it wouldnt restart and instead it would ask you to install these two updates for windows. Install both of them and after the installation, restart the computer.
<--> If you have a problem at this stage; If it says something like "Could not verfy the integrety of Update.ini or something similar, this may be because your windows isnt upto date. I recommend you to quit the installation and (restart if you have to) and then roll back the system restore point. Once you done that go to windows update site and check fot the updates again. If it tells you some sh1t about SP2, look for the button below it that says "review other updates". Once you done that, go back to 4th step.
7. If everything goes well, after the restart connect your phone to the computer with the 5 pin mini USB cable. (I dont know how this going to be if you trying to connect with bluetooth. V220 doesnt has bluetooth. But if you trying this on anything higher, you will have bluetooth.)
8. Once you connect, be *EXTREMELY* patient. This can take a while depending on the speed of your computer. It will start installing the drivers for the phone. There are about 5-6 different drivers that it will install. If it says that the drivers cannot be found, browse and locate the "Motorola\PST" folder.
9. Wait till it says all hardwares are installed and ready to use.
10. Launch the "PST Phone Programmer" which should be in your desktop right now.
11. Select File -> New. And then from the big windows that opens, select "KJava File".
12. And then select Phone -> Read
13. Wait till the progress bar reach 100% and close that dialog box.
14. Now click on that big Enable Java App Loader button.
15. Wait till the progress bar reaches 100% and close everything.
16. Now when I disconnected the phone from computer and opend it up, I got scared. The panel outside works but the color screen wasnt working. I was like OMG I just screwed up my phone and tryed hitting some random buttons. Nothing happen. Then I realised that the functions had been frozen (at the suspending stage) in order to read the phone date.
17. Just turn it off and back on.
18. See your "Java App Loader" under "Java settings" in "Settings".
