i have k700i vodafone barnded and i waana to update it u think can i do it in some shop not in the vodafone shops cuz i unlocked it and i think they gonna lock it again if i take it for updating u think can i do it in some shop??????????????

i know that amr and avr can be programmed using simple serial cable. i want to know that y do we have to use dongels or remote server to flash the phones.
i m spacialy interested in flashing SE T230 /T290 is there any way to do it using simple serial cable (i m using this cable to transfer pic and ring tones )http://www.geocities.com/fhasny/t230_cable.gif

I think I broke my phone
I have a s710a from cingular and I did the unlock and it worked fine, I've tested with another SIM and it worked fine.
Than I got a firmware from Davinci :
S710a_Argentina_Main_R1A032_CID29.BIN
and
S710a_Argentina_FS_R1A032_CID29.BIN
I uploaded the first file (MAIN) and nothing happend, the logos and everything else still there. Still working with other SIM.
Than I went to the second (FS), and now my phone starts with the following message:
CONFIGURATION ERROR
PLEASE CONTACT SERVICE PROVIDER
OR SERVICE CENTER
Please HELP, I'm very desperate

you should upload the main and FS file one after the another. then INITIALIZED
BTW, where did you get the s710a file?
remember s710a is a network phone... the generic is s700
im not sure, but you can try to upload s700 file r3k cid29.

Since I already have the firmware files (I got them from Davinciteam web server) there is any tool that uses T28 serial cable connection to do the upload without the need of being connected or pay for service credits (like unlockitnow or Davinci)?

The first time I saw this phone was in Argentina, on a SE booth on a shopping mall. So when I read "Argentina" on the fw file it make sense to me. And I read the current unbranded fw is R1A032, so.....

One more question
Is it right the .BIN file extension for fw and language package? Or these online tools make a kind of compilation before uploading to the phone?
