I just bought a w810i from Rogers and i want to use mp3's as ringtones but i was wondering if unlocking would help me do this or do i have to debrand. It would be perfect if i could just unlock it because i would like to use this phone overseas instead of debranding and then unlocking.

PLEASE HELP

I've read through this thread, but am not really any the wiser. Is it possible to flash the K750i to the W800i's firmware without paying for this service? I ask because I am not able to use internet payment services.

Thanks for your help, PM me if necessary.

Hi I'm back. Thanks for your response Cellcorner.

In the mean time I've bought a SE T28 service cable and eventually I managed to unlock the SE T637 (so it seems). The problem now is, that phone is not working. I get "insert correct sim card". When I emailed the GSM4Software helpdesk, I get a reply with "you need to ask provider for a 2G SIM card; the phone is unlocked". I am switching provider and did not get an answer (yet) to my question what a 2 G SIM card realy is.
Can anybody clearify / help me?

Thank you in advance!

p.s.: I left my SIM card when trying to unlock with Multiserver software. Was this a good or a bad thing?

If you debrand the phone it will remove the proprietry settings, if you unlock the phone you will be able to use a sim card from whichever service provider you choose.

The only option is to have the phone repaired using a full uninstall and then reinstall of the software, this will debrand the phone and also flash it with the newest software.

This is what you will need sorry mate but it's gonna set you back about £25 GBP.

If you need this service contact me as I can provide it.
