I am having exactly the same problem! i bought it for cheap on ebay, ive installed it, didnt work properly so i downloaded drivers of the net, and the image editor still wont recognise my phone, its so so frustrating!
Any ideas?

Downloaded File manager V1.0.0.1 WK1, connected E820 with a serial cable to COM port 1 and this is all, see quote below, i get, any one any ideas.
"Cannot open port and this program is switched in offline mode. After, try to switch in online"

Just an update, have managed to get rid of the above message, but when i open file manager, i get a pic of my phone, but cannot see anything on it.
It also says i am offline at the bottom of the display.
Hope this might mean something to 1 of you.

Hi Guys,
I haver ead through all these posts, but none of u are having the same problem as i, can any1 help please.
I Got a cable from ebay and they assured me it worked with E800, infact there is an option to pick that phone from the cd i got with it, it installs fine but when i want to use the File manager program i get this message;
"Unable to inialize DAO/Jet db engine.", then it just crashes.
Does anyone know how to overcome this error.
I look forward to hearing yr replies

i can upload files now put only really small ones to my d500 so where can i download that program which lets you upload any file sizes?

Which icon do you mean? I go through active "File Manager" icon and both "Melody to phone" and "Image to phone" icons are inactive Then I get a window "File Manager" with "My phone" and three folders are available for browsing: Photos, Images and Sounds.
I upload all my ringtones to "My sounds" folder, animated gifs (can be used as screensavers) and other pics to "Images". But you cannot use any pics from this folder as caller ID - stupid Sams

i understand that u manage to get ur E820 connected to ur com via the USB data cable rite? I bought mine too from Ebay...but can't seem to get them connected..any settings I need to take note? from my computer it is connected via com 6..so the program I used need to change any settings? thanx alot...getting bit fedup with the data cable...

yea...seems like alot of people havin problems...even the infrared device also cannot detect samsung phones sigh.....
