It's me again. It seems that a lot of you still asking how to do things like this. This applies almost if not all the Motorola phone with USB or Bluetooth connectivity.
2. Extract this and install it. But dont connect your phone yet. This program is old. If your phone is new, the chances are it wouldnt work. But if you have something like a T720, this should work fine. All V*** phones wont.
4. Install this and run liveupdate, repeat this till you have the latest version. You *might* have to restart your computer. (Even if you don't, it's a good idea to restart it.)
5. Connect your phone now and wait till it installs the drivers. If it says windows cant find the drivers, manuely browse the location where you installed Mobile Phone Tools.
6. Open the program and wait till it goes through the "Initializing..." process.
7. Now if you do everything right, you should see the program with skin of your phone. If the program doesnt look like your phone, you *might* have a little problem. (But if everything else works it's all good).
8. Beside the phone, you should have a toolbar in your right hand side, Click on the "Multimedia Studio" and it would open up a window with folders that you are suppose to upload your mp3s, video clips, and images into.
IT IS RECOMENDED THAT YOU MAKE THE IMAGE SIZE SMALLER TO ABOUT 400X*** AND SAVE THE FILE AS A *.JPG FOR UPLOADIG IN ORDER TO MAKE THE FILE SIZE SMALLER.
(Ex: My V220 has a 128x128 screen. Any image bigger than 128x128 would make no difference other than taking up space which you dont have a lot of.)
Also for MP3's try to bring the quality down with something like "DBPoweramp". (A free software. Just give a goole for it). Also if you download anything other than mp3, you can convert them to mp3 with DBPoweramp.

Hi there, nukem3000. Thanks for the tutorial! One question. You said that it won't work with the V*** phones, but how did you get it to work with yours? I have a V180 and would like to update some of my phone pictures.
Thanks!

nukem3000,
Your directions above are great and they work properly! I'm having a problem with Step #8, I can't see an option in the right-hand menu for "Multimedia Studio". Does my phone need to be unlocked for this to work?
I have a Motorola T720c phone with Verizon Wireless service. I appreciate any and all help you can be.

Heh, tried again, this time i went through your instructions with a fine comb. The problem I had was I skipped the part about installing drivers, but I got it working now. Thanks again!

No it doesnt has to be unlocked. But since you doing this on a T phone I cant exactly help you with this case.

I guess what threw me off was that you posted this:

So the T720c WON'T work with these instructions? I'm somewhat confused here now.

I think what he means is that a T serie phone is older, which means it is compatible with the intial download of mobile phone tools. But the V serie phones are newer, which means they require the newest update to work. Even if you have an old phone I suspect it wouldn't hurt to get the latest update anyways.

Thats right. But If your phone was detected fine by that older version, then why dont you try to find "Multimedia Studio" on it? That's all you need. But If you wish, just download the update. But then again, I havent seen it working with T720c and I dont think it will make a big difference unless the older version didnt detect your phone properly and now this new version does. Of course it doesnt matter if you install the update anyways.

I am trying to make my own wallpaper image, but am having trouble figuring out, by trial and error, exactly what the best size and resolution is for wallpaper. How many pixels by how many and what resolution should I use to maximize the pic without wasting storage, etc?

Which cell phone do you have? (ie T720, V400, etc.)
