Remember that your phone isn't your mp3 player...you don't need a long mp3 ringer. Instead, use an mp3 cutter program, or a music editing program like CoolEdit to create a short clip. Perhaps one that will sound cool when your phone loops it back to the beginning. This way, you cut the size of your ringer file, and you still have plenty of room for other ringers. Oh, and if you decide to not use a file, pull it off your phone to free up some space. If it's saved on your computer, you can always download it again.
my problem is I'm too cheap to buy the transfer software for my phone...so until someone puts it on Ares, I'm gonna have to stick to good ol' polyphonic

So did anyone figure out an answer to this problem? I'm having the EXACT same issue.

No, I'm running Windows 2000.
I just found out that someone at work is using v3.11 on XP and it works ok with the v400. Maybe I should try re-installing the software. Or maybe I have a bad cable!
I'll keep trying...
Thanks again. |

Related to this subject Ive found that
Melody Studio does not give me the option to save tones imake to the phone - no option other than to save straight to the multimedia card
I have a nasty headache with this as the main attraction to buying this package was to use my created or derived sounds as ringtones.
Using Soundforge to make up the sounds I want for my ringtones, I then save them in mp3 (most other formats possible also). I find them through MelodyStudio and I then can send the file I've opened through to the mobile via usb cable provided - But
when I look in my phone book to edit the ringer ID or through phone Setup/ring detail -to try and access the new sound all I have to choose from are the existing craptastic sounds in the list not the tones that I've just sent to the phone.
When I go looking to check the sounds available I see those sent tones with the card icon not the phone icon thats needed and so I cant use them for my ringtones as desired
the existing crap-tastic tones have.
has anyone got the answer to this

Please make sure that the format you are uploading to your phone is the correct style.
For MP3's v400 will play 64 bit 22HZ 2 channels
MIDI has to be MIDI (0) WAV 8bit 16hz 1 channel
IF these are not correct you will get the message that it doesnt reconize it and wants to delete it.
upate to the lastest version of mobile phone tools.
I'm running v3.46 Deluxe with a v400.

They say your stuck with what ever version shipped with your phone witch i this is total crap.

You can use MPT (www.brvp.com) or Mobiledit (www.mobiledit.com)
Alternatively you can copy files over with any of the p2k programs - but this is a little more work

I was at a party and took pictures on my Razr (Cingular). I cannot get them onto my computer and everyone wants me to send them the pictures! I have a USB cable that fits, and everyone says this "Mobile Phone Tools" works great. So where do I get it, how does it work, and do I have to buy it? Anything back would be greatly appreciated.

MPT is not free - you get it at www.bvrp.com
Try mobiledit from www.mobiledit.com
