Hello guys,
I have recently owned n6600, i transfered few *.wav files with my friend's 6600. but those *.wav files are setted as the ring tones for my friend's n6600 (when call came, wav file rings) and works fine.
**BUT**
When i set those *.wav tones as ring tone, (at call) nokia's default ring tone bells up ...
few of *.wav tones works as ring tones and few are not. but at my friend's n6600, all of them are working.
here is my cell's info ... (*#0000#)
V 4.09.1
26-02-04
NHL-10
you guys are my hope .. [/b]

make show your wav ringtones are of the the following bitrate
16000 Hz
8 Bit
Mono ....you shouldnt have a problem now ...this is only for the 6600 other phones can play higher bitrates

uhmmm... wrong...
The 6600 supports wav up to 48000Hz in 16 Bit... PCM codec... which is uncompressed sound... like of a CD.
I've got some on my phone and they work, even as ringtone...
Have you tried using them as rington when they are saved in the phones memory and not on the MMC?
And make sure they are in the correct folder ("Sounds", better is the subfolder "Digital tones").
When the 6600 can't access a soundfile, it uses the default ringtone.

i dint mean that a higher bitrate would not work on the 6600 ,,but i meant that the bitrate that i mentioned would sound good keeping in mind that the file would not be that big ..lets face it nokia 6600 is a great phone but has the worst sound (headphones and speakers )as far as musci/rintones are concerned a higher bitrate would not make that much a difference on this phone or aleast i think from testing the phone out ..i guess after u buy the ngage nothing sounds as good it

Sounded that way
16000 Hz
4 Bit
Mono
IMA ADPCM Codec (when I remember right)
That's how PC Suite converts sounds... and they are very nice.
But if the sounds work on his buddys phone they should work on his too...
Some very few time it happend that my 6600 played the default rington instead of the wav file... maybe too slow access?! But I don't care as long as I get the call

im having the same prob as mahrumer too, my wav files are working perfectly until a while ago when i received a call and the default ringtone for nokia suddenly played instead of the wav riingtone. and now, it seems that non of my wav files works whenever i receive a call. however whenever i try listening to it it works perfectly fine. what could be the prob and how do i get my phone to play wav files again? thanks!

I've recently experienced that with my N6600. But after reading your posts, I've had this idea of copying back all wav/midi files from the memory card back to my phone's memory, specifically in Sound clips > Digital sounds -- Not in any other user-created directories. I hope this would work for others too.
Btw, my phone's version is 4.17.0.

am experiencing the same problem as mahrumer.
the only details in my wav is
the clip name,
the duration,
the size,
the date
and
the time
there's no bitrate
coz it is just a wav from my pc
created by my brother
how can i use it as ringing tone.
is there any other alternative options?
