I've been downloading some tones and java games and ran out of memory, I exited the browser and went to check the sizes of my applications and then the phone crashed. Anything to be concerned about? How do I check my software version and what's the current one? Cheers.

It seems that the memory space allocated on 6610 is very limited, (Correct me if I'm wrong) about 300-350kb as compared to the 7250's 5MB memory. Regarding the crash, I'm not sure of the cause, perhaps someone who knows may wish to share it?
Anyway
To check the software version on your phone press *#0000#.
To check the software version of your Nokia PC Suite or whatever program you are using go to the menu bar of the program, choose Help then About and you should get a brief description of the software.

I think you better go to the nearest nokia centre to check it. Maybe the software is corrupted because u upload to many games (3rd party) in it. If it still under warranty, it will be free if they are reinstall or upgrading your software.
OR
make some space about 50k to 100k so that the phone can breathe a little bit. For e.g. In Windows, if your partition is 1G, you can't fill it up to 1G. It will slow and even crash the pc. Same goes to the phone.

LOL @Windows-Bullsh*t ^^
Once I had a partition filled and at least there wehre 49kb free ^^
I think it just has crashed ^^
It happens to every phone (especially Siemens )
I would be concerned if it happens more than one time. If it happend more than one time, go to a Nokia Care Centre. If not: forget about it

this "windows bullshit" as u put it actually happens in any filesystem
u have blocks of a certain size and if a file is under that size it still occupies the full block, so theoretically there is wasted space. happens in fat,fat32,ntfs,ext2,ext3, etc. etc. so is not windows bs

You were right about that 49kb free IF THAT partition is not the partition where WINDOWS was install (Mostly partition c: where windows always INSTALL). If ya don't trust me, clock your startup in windows in normal mode THEN filled it up untill it FULL, THEN you clock it again. OR just use the FULL partition for couple of days
