Vzwpincess! Control your anger!! This trick really worked! You may know some things, but certainly not everything. I have just ended my contract of more or less 10 years with verizon because their employees seemed to be full of themselves. Now, I am trying to fix my husbands cheap phone because verizon wants him to get a new one, and yes we have insurance. But VERIZON wants us to pay a $50 deductible.
To everyone else go to TMobile at Amazon.com they will pay $50 bucks after rebates. I got a Blackberry cell and $50. Tmobile has great customer service unlike Verizon employees which by the way had hang up on me!!

BJ WineGlass You should go work for Verizon!! You just saved my life!! To make a long story short, i had surgery yesterday and have to take pain killers every 3 hours.. When my phone randomly went onto car kit, i couldnt hear the alarm! And my regular alarm clock only has one alarm to set.. So i went online and found your tip! LIFESAVER!!! Now i have all 3 alarms on my phone to go off 3 different times throughout the night, and i can hear again!!! YOU ARE A GENIOUS! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

My husband's LG was stuck on Car Kit mode and I read the tips in this forum and in another one that suggested a hair dryer. End result, I took the battery off, then took a mini screwdriver and scraped the connections in the charger port, gently, as well as I could, in order to loosen what appeared to be some corrosion. I then took a hair dryer and blew into it for about 30 seconds, turned it over and did it again.
Problem solved! I'm not sure which portion did it and whether one would have worked without the other, but his phone now works. Thanks, BJ! I really appreciate the advice.
(For anyone who was confused about where the connections were for the car kit -- I wasn't sure whether the post referred to the place to plug the earpiece or the regular charging connection -- it is the regular charging connection.)

THANKS BJ!
I just woke up today and had the phone next to my bed. It was freaking out but its weird because no water spilled on it. Anyways, I could not get the damn thing to work.
I busted your trick and you saved my vx8000. Thanks for the tip.

its funny how everyone says"verizon's cheap phones" like you forget verizon provides cell phone service. Verizon does not manufacture phones.

I recently got my phone wet and for a while it was stuck in "car kit" mode. But now all it says is no service. It turns on fine and everything but I don't want to have to buy another phone. I would appreciate any suggestions.
