Does anyone know how the )(*)F you get the V505 to connect to the software via the USB cable? The phone is visible as a modem from control panel, I can querry it via diagnostics as a modem, I have the latest upgrades for the software from the Motorola site, but the software can't communicate with the phone. And Motorola's support lines don't ()*ing work on the weekends - great! Any help appreciated.

What type of drivers did you use for the cable? Was it a p2k driver, motorola, etc... It could be an incompatible driver.

Motorola finally told me that the problem is that I am using a 3rd party cable which doesn't have the correct pin-out for the v505. I have ordered the cable from Motorola that they supply which they say will fix the problem. I'll post the results when I get it. Many thanks.

I am using a 3rd party cable and I have no problem whatsoever. Seems odd?

I agree - I don't know that I believe that Motorola's own cable will fix it - I have ordered it (it isn't cheap and next day delivery isn't free either) and we will see. I'll post the results here, but I am willing to bet a cup of coffee and a donut of your choice that it won't fix it and I'll be back on the phone with Motorola again to resolve driver issues.

By the way, Motorola Technical and Customer Support isn't open on the weekends and evenings and nights? Do they think that people only have probems and/or buy their stuff during normal M-F 9/5? Do they know that phone stores and electronics stores are open on weekends and nights? Do they care?

We can only guess? Marketing I suppose. I am not sure if you want to try a different driver for your 3rd party cable or If you have already. I just realize that I am using a V600 and you a V505. I do not think it will make a different. Please let me know that result of their cable....

A friend of mine just got a V505 and cant find the drivers for it to use it as a modem in a computer with WIN XP and the cable. The cable was provided by ATT. Can anyone tell me where the hell I can find the damn drivers. I cant find them anywhere in motorola's or AT&T website.

Thanks
