i have a motorola v220 on tesco net and i want to use my 02 sim card but it wont let me it says enter subsidy pass..... but i dont know what it is can any one help me please. does any one know the codes for the phones

The phone is locked to a specific network. You will need to unlock the phone. You can unlock the phone for a fee of $25 over the web or a local phone dealer would be able to help you as well.
The subsidy code is an unlocking code set by the provider.

that will do it but it will cost me £15. does any one know how to get the code with out paying or is there a way of working it out i know its something to do with the imei number on your phone.

Hi Ricky,
Any luck on the above yet?
I have just bought the same phone from Tesco & want to use it with my o2 sim also, when I called Tesco they said I had to put £30 credit on my phone then they would unlock it!! So much for thinking that it was a good price, with the £30 top-up I may as well of got the phone else where! 
Please let me know if you have had any luck yet.

Hiya,
Any luck with the above?, Ive got the same problem - bought it from Tesco's and want to use it on O2, hopefully without having to pay to get it unlocked. Anyone know how much the phone shops cost to unlock them?.. been looking all over the net with not much luck!!!>.

Got it unlocked for just £7! at a local shop. They had some software, plugged it in & was done in a minute or two.

thats great, thanks!... if you dont mind me asking... which shop did you go to?.. I went to the Carphone warehouse 2day and they told me to go to the local Market!!!... sounds dodgy!...

I too tried carphone warehouse & they also sent me to a small local shop.
I live in the Isle of Wight so choice of where to go was not an option as such! No such thing at our local market as this! 
Good priced phones at Tesco, but what a bum when you want to stay with the old network you're already with eh!

Hi Tracy,
I had the same problem but I managed to get my V220 unlocked for less than £7. I sent it to someone on ebay. I won the auction on Sunday, sent my phone to them on Monday and got it back Wednesday.
