I called Customer Care for mine and the lady told me that I had a better chance of going to my local Cingular store, not a kiosk, or small store, but a regular Cingular with a repair dept. She said they usually replace it for no charge. She stated that it would be $25 to order a new card otherwise. I decided I would go to the local store and see if they can fix it and the lady was very nice and said, "Don't worry this happens all the time and all you have to do is bring it in and we will replace it with a new sim card." I was afraid to even mention the original $25 quote I had heard earlier, hoping she wouldn't charge me. I figured I could get a new phone for only $18 (with a new sim card) if she did want to charge me! Luckily it was a simple process, she even copied my old, old card with my address book to the new sim card. So don't panic! Take it to a regular Cingular store and they will gladly replace it for free. Good luck and hope this helps anyone else who is going through the same thing. Believe me, it bites!

Wow, really?
What phone company do you work for?
I must be really lucky because I am using these "really burnt" sim cards ALL over the world.
That's just amazing.

For future education, if you guess your PIN wrong one too many times, the phone will then ask for a PUK (or Pin Unlocking Key) this PUK code you need to get from CINGULAR... this will allow you to reset your Pin, if you put in the PUK wrong one to many times it will block the sim and the only way to get the phone working again is to get a new SIM |
sounds like bs to me
