Ok, i was searching that phrase, and came upon a topic about that posted here, but it didnt really answer my problem--i had already used up my 10 chances of guessing the password...i thought it was the one i thought i created..or else the one in the book (0000) or else a standard one of (1234) but i was wrong-why i didnt stop when i had once chance left, i dont know-----so now it says SIM is blocked...i cant receive calls, or do anything--all it will let me do is make emergency calls..which obviously doesnt help at all....so I am calling Cingular about it tomorrow-Im just worried I totally screwed it up,and am going to have to end up paying money for something--I just got it Friday..so Im bummed that Ive already managed to mess it up...so, has anyone else had this happen? What did you have to do?
thanks

Yup...what you will have to do know is buy a new SIM card... once it says SIM blocked, the sim is effectively "burnt"
For future education, if you guess your PIN wrong one too many times, the phone will then ask for a PUK (or Pin Unlocking Key) this PUK code you need to get from CINGULAR... this will allow you to reset your Pin, if you put in the PUK wrong one to many times it will block the sim and the only way to get the phone working again is to get a new SIM

the point is mads, he has already input the PUK wrong one to many times.. thus blocking the sim card, which is why he needs a new sim

Hey,
Hey guys, well, about the "Sim Card Blocked". I have "fried" or "tosed" my Simcard three(3) times, and as long as it doesn't just come up with a screen that says something along the lines of "Sim Card Rejected", your fine. If it tells your to enter your PIN1 or PIN2 code, then all you have to do it type in the wrong number until it tells your to enter your PUK1 of PUK2 code, as soon as it does that call Cingular(1-800-CINGULAR) or whom ever your SP(Service Provider) is, and they can tell you what you're PUK's are. But you have to make sure that you don't type in your PUK codes in to many times, with mine it is three(3) times, but I am pretty sure that it varies by carrier/location/phone/card, but just to let you know, as long as it doesn't say "Sim Card Rejected" your fine, but if it says that your pretty much as screwed as your SIM card is, but it's okay, don't freak out, because you didn't mess your phone up, on the card, and the cards only run about $30.00(where I live), so, you've got no problem. Just don't screw with your PIN's and PUK's unless you know what your doing, otherwise your just asking to screw your card up. (There is a difference between Sim Blocked and Sim Rejected, Sim Blocked can be fixed, Sim Rejected means it's broken.) Sorry.
Your welcome(if it was even any help), The Nobody(Gibby).
