Is there a possibility that this cable I have is set to Data instead of D/L? I'm very close to hacking it and adding a switch to it to see if it does anything.. but following the traces on the PCB leads to other empty spots for other parts.. I think this cable is a POS.

Why do all your phones require unlocking ? What causes them to become locked ?

You will need cable and right software to fix it.

I have a Samsung SGH-X426 that is not operating because it says, "Phone locked return for servicing." Why does it say this? Because I entered this code: #0111*00000000#.
I have read that the only way to correct this problem is to re-flash the firmware. Here are my questions:
First, which data cable do I need to do this? Do I need the PCB093LBE OEM cable? Does that cable have a switch? I am guessing the switch is important.
I have a USB data cable, but if I need a switch, then I can't flash the firmware without the correct cable, right?
I have downloaded various tools from http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/s/j/sjs342/ and so far I haven't been able to successfully restore this phone to an operating state.
I highly suspect the data cable.
Is there anyone here who has ever had this problem and is there a solution?
Is the information here good?

Locking is the service provider's way of trying to make you stick with the software they want you to have. They can then give you the phone with a service plan with hopes that you will use it for their service only because it is locked to that service. This is also why they will unlock the phone for you, but at some rediculous charge ($75 per unlock). They are trying to keep you within their service but still make you feel like you got some sort of benefit by receiving a phone.
As for the USB unlocking problem. Have you tried the "Unlocking and Phone Locked" post. I need to find the USB drivers and just get them on my site, but they should be in there somewhere. Stay tuned for updates, I will try to get the drivers available myself.

Hi, I have a Samsung x426 and I cannot recall my Lock password.
Currently, when turned on, the phone says:
Phone Locked
Enter Password
How can I get access to my phone? Any help would be great.
Thank you in advance.

To Optiflash an AT&T X426 phone, do I need to have an AT&T sim card in? Because it keeps telling me to power the phone on and I don't have any sim card in at all and the only way I would think to actually have it turn on is to have an AT&T card in it. I'm trying to make this phone work with cingular.

Just hold down the power button. No SIM is required because it never actually boots up anyway.

What is your site and are you talking about the X427M USB drivers because that is what I need. I need a program like P2K Man except for the X427M I use P2K for my Moto V300 and it works wonders! Basically I'm looking for drivers and a program to connect to the phone ...

Look in Firmware Mods for the PL drivers. They are the ones you need to try.

Now all I need is a program to connect to my phone. Something like a FTP proggy but for phones if that makes any sense? I know the X427M is quite new and there isn't much out there and not as many people care about modding it as much as lets say a motorola but it can still be done right? Also ... NOOB QUESTION:Let's say I want to flash my phone with a new firmware, will I lose all my info? If so, what is the file I need to save in order to keep my phonebook and other misc. info?
