Hey, I was thinking of buying a new phone. The 2 choices that I have is between Nokia 6610 and Samsung S105. I found out that the number of colors in Nokia is 4,096 and the number of colors in Samsung is 65,000. So I just wanted to know is that is the 6610's image quality pretty good and clear or not?

Well I have had my phone for a week now. I have had fun with my IR port on the computer and this website. I have put on a few different quality images and most come out ok on the small screen. For example one of the Monsters Inc images available on this site looks pretty crisp and colourful. Unless you are looking for something absolutely spectacular I think the 6610 is great. (Better than a shitty Panasonic GD68 colour screen that I used to have, which could only display 256 colour).
Good luck with your purchase.

I've been using the Nokia 6610 for a few months now. If you compare the features, the Samsung S105 does not support MMS (only EMS) but it does have a 16-bit colour screen. The 6610's display is not too bad. It really depends what you wanna use the phone for. If you want clarity and vibrant colours, I suggest the Samsung but if you're more interested in features, try the Nokia.

yeah.. go for nokia, has a high value for later trade-in. if u have extra cash, go n buy 7250 / 7250i. 6610 is great also.. u can share many things with so many nokia users here..
16-bit phone uses extra voltage than smaller bits while 256 colours is not sufficient enough for your eyes..
go for nokia..

All those extra colors won't do you any good.
The screen resolution is 128x128 pixels. 128*128 is 16384. That means that with 128x128 screen resolution you can only fit 16384 colors anyway. Show me an image that is 128x128 which has more colors than 4096, it'll VERY seldom be a problem.
