I am currently on my third k700i handset. All three have had the same problems.
1. Entries in the phone book disapear randomly, leaving the contacts name only.
2. Phone numbers for a particular contact sometimes appear under the wrong contact. But when you select the phone number it chages back to the correct number for that contact.
3. At times the unit crashes and restarts itself when using more than one of the units feature/application at once.
4. When using bluetooth if the connecting device has to much data within the OBEX file for the k700i to handle it will just crash and restart itself.
5. At times txt messages disappear or aren't placed in the inbox if using one of the phones functions when the text message arrives.
I am happy with the product except for these issues. As I've changed the phone 3 times I assum that these are problems with the actual software and so will be generic to all units. I was wondering if anybody else had experienced these problems or if anybody knows why I am experiencing these problems and how to fix them. In the mean time Im off to the link to get my 4th handset, and if that dosen't work ill have to get in contact with sony. I have owned a k700i since the first day they were released form the link in Sheffield, UK.

Hi,
Since you've been keeping on changing on the phone, if i could give a tip. Try flashing your phone to the latest firmware for K700i R2AA003. Make a kind request from the service centre individuals to make an firmware upgrade.
Bye,

I noticed this problem yesterday for the first time, but only AFTER I upgraded to the latest firmware (which I did last Friday).

Hi,
This proves my solution i gave above. Try making the step wisely. Confirm whether they have the exact firmware with the service centre. They could play you out.

thanks for the advice I will try and upgrade to the latest firmware. However I am still a bit pissed off with the fact that sony has sold me a product that cannor deliver the services it offers. When I bought the phone I wasn't given any kind of incline as to the fact that I may need to upgrade my software as the current software dosen't work. Also the phone book is a major feature of any phone, disappearing and changing numbers can be extremly costly in the business sense. The k700i has the potential to be a great product but it seems that, to sony, selling the product and getting it out there is more important than producing a quality product and delivering the services they claim the product offers. Oh yeah the problems with the my phone book are happening more often now, also the phone is now assigning random pictures to random contacts.

To be fair, i have only noticed it once. And a colleague has had the same problem before upgrading (I did it online via the SE site). I also probably dont take the best care over my phone and tends to get dropped a fair bit, also i very rarely turn it off. Even the best OS (i know that its not an OS but you know what i mean) will crash and behave strangely from time to time.
Im very impressed with my k700i all in all after having it for a few months. I just wish i could use some of that extra memory for my SMS Inbox!!

Hi,
This is quite usual for Sonyericsson users. When the P800 cameout it too had a buggy software. Then they released few firmwares which resulted in many changes which were quite troubling in the earlier ones. So this is the story it happens to almost any of the sonyericssons.
