Hey Everyone:
I have been dealing with this problem for the past couple months trying to find a phone that does not require me to go to the browser in order to get my test messages. Sprint told me that if it says SMS enabled that you dont have to go to your browser, but that wasnt the case. I was wondering if someone could tell me which models do not require you to go to the browser in order to get your SMS text messages.
Thanks a ton!

My wife uses the Sanyo 8200. It's not to pricey and when she get sms, she simply clicks on the notification and schrolls down to read the text; hits reply and responds to text. I hope that helps. I don't remember you referancing the type of phone u currently use. Also, the Treo series that someone mentioned is excellent, but pricey and bulky for the typical user.

If you are finding the SMS/text messaging service kinda sketchy with Sprint, you can try a text message provider like iPiPi (www.ipipi.com). They only charge 10 cents per message and you can send all over the world for this price (imagine how much you can save on your long distance phone bill!).
Sprint does not have International text messaging service so I suggest giving this company a shot. Good luck!

A buddy of mine bought the new PM-8920. It appeared to be a great phone. It has a sharp looking tft screen, and was capable of 1.3 megapixel digital photos. On Sprint's website it states that is capable of instant SMS, but when he received it he realized it was not the case. He receives the SMS messages instantly, but when he replies or sends one on his own, it has to connect to the web to do so. He took it back and got the Sanyo 8200. Although it doesn't have as nice of a screen and only takes .3 megapixel (640x480) digital photos, he is much more happier with it, because he can send and receive sms messages instantly.

The thing about text messaging is that with vision on a short mail phone the texting is unlimited but the sms which uses the voice circuits is 100 free a month then .10 for each unless you buy the unlimited text bundle for $10.00. You could always sign up for Yahoo messanger or Aim. With the LG325 if your using it as a phone as a modem using the bluetooth feature to keep connected you want to sign into Aim or Yahoo messanger to keep from getting disconnected while your on the web.
