Nights and Weekend Minutes start at 9; but what happens if I call someone at, say, 8:30? If I go over 9:00, does it count the entire call as "anytime minutes" because I started the call before 9, or does it switch to "nights and weekend" minutes at 9?
Sorry for the confusion

Hi,
The answer is NO. The time starts counting at the time u place the call
and it will not switch over to ur Nights & Weekends bucket.
So...if it's 8:30pm, go make urself a hot chocolate & sandwich...wait till
9:01pm, then u can start to rock n roll

Of course, the flip side of that is also true... If you start a call at 659am, it will be N&W minutes after 7am.

Actully JC you are mistaken.... effective some time this year (i cant remember exacly when), the minutes are being split... it did used to be the other way though
so if you start a call @ 8:30 and it goes for 45 minutes ... well 30 minutes will be daytime and 15 will be night and weekends...

Well, either your wrong, or my bill is wrong... Last month, I had a call start at 8:55pm, for 20 minutes - all were charged (at least delineated on my bill) as "DT" meaning daytime. Under your explanation, the call should have spanned two lines (like my AT&T bills did) with one for the five minutes, and another for the 15 minutes that would have been NW mins.

I heard the same. If you call at 8:58pm and goes past 9, it does not count as free Nights. You have to end the call and call back.

I just called customer service tonight (2008-Oct-10) and they clearly confirmed that the minutes are NOT split.
If you receive a call at 8:59 and talk for 60 minutes, ALL of those 60 minutes will be billed at the daytime rate! That is NOT fair. Even in primitive Eastern European countries, the minutes are split.
Screw AT&T/Cingular scammers!

Please explain this to me, because there is confusion related to this.
Our plan has 700 minutes. Therefore, any minutes we don't use rolls over (until 12 months later when they expire). Example, say we use 200 minutes. This means we have 500 rollover minutes.
Nights and Weekend minutes. We have unlimited. These do not rollover.
So, the question is, do using nights and weekend minutes impact the rollover minutes for the 700 minutes?
Thanks.
