I have read quite a few topics about getting ringtones to work for the V3xx. I haven't been able to get the ringtones I have made to work as a ringtone on my phone. I have cropped the mp3's down to the right sizes using audacity and I have transferred them to my phone and I can't apply them as ringtones. Any suggestions? The mp3 I am trying to get to work for my phone is 128kbps, 312KB and 19 seconds in length.

What I would like to see is someone providing some sort of tutorial for creating ringtones in iMelody. I'm not sure how many Motorola phones have these, but my C168i has it and someone to explain what it all does would probably be good help. icon_biggrin.gif

Hi guys and gals. I am a newbie to this forum so please excuse me for mistakes that I may have made unintentionally here.

I need to download ringtone from my PC to my V3XX thru the USB cable. I have downloaded the mobiledit software but for some reason it is not detecting my cell phone after I plug in the phone to my PC. This is my first time downloading a ringtone from a PC to cell phone and I would appreciate if someone can walk me thru the procedure. Thanks a lot.

The way that person is talking about is via WAP
your phone has to have internet to download them to your phone
you would upload your ringtone, pictures, etc. on the site, then open your phone browser, type in the download link and save to phone

I believe this site may work, I used to know alot
Try: google and go to mobile17 website
If it doesn't tell me and ill try to find another one for you

if push comes to shove.have someone bluetooth the songs to you

If your phone has bluetooth, you can send them from your computer to your phone without having to pay anything extra. If your computer does not have bluetooth, you can buy a bluetooth dongle (which will give your pc bluetooth capabilities) for pretty cheap (around $8.00). The nice thing about that is you'll then be able to use it with any future bluetooth enabled phone you get as well.

As for the file size, my phone requires the ringtone to be LESS THAN 300kb AND LESS THAN 30 seconds, otherwise it won't work for a ringtone.

I created a webpage with directions for creating a MP3 ringtone, hope this can help!

Hi,

I have a Motorola V188 (yes, it's 5y/o; yes it works perfectly well for me) and I have a specific ringtone, in the form of a .mpeg file, that I would like to put on it. I have a USB cable but I have no idea where the instruction manual or the Motorola CD is now.

Is there a way to do this - preferably with freeware? (hardly worth it for this one maneuver otherwise). I would greatly appreciate any advice. I know nothing about cell phones and very little about techie computer and sound stuff, BTW. Thanks much for any help.
