Things you need:
--------------------
Mobile Phone Tools(or equivilent)
PolderbitS Sound Recorder and Editor(I have version 3.0 build 74 you can download at http://tucows.efes.net.tr/preview/194683.html)
--------------------
Lets begin:
--------------------
First of all you have to have a phone that supports MP3 ringtones and you have to download the mp3s
once you have downloaded the things you need and the mp3s you want do this
1. Open PolderbitS Sound Recorder and Editor but just open the "Sound Editor"
2. once you have sound editor open find the MP3 you want to edit then click open
3.Once you have opened the MP3 file listen to the MP3 and pick out what part you want the ringtone to be....at the bottom there are squiglly lines thats your song.....pick out the spot you want it to start then click the "start point" then find the spot you want your ringtone to end and click "end point" (I think ringtones only play for 19 secs I don't know)
** notice you can add more options like "fade out" and stuff DO AS YOU PLEASE this is just the simple way
4. after you have done all that click save as... then pick where you want the ringtone to be saved at......then change file name to whatever and you can change sound quality **recommended settings: Save as(Leave default) Sound quality(click select..then leave codec same..chane sound quality again to mono keep "regular mp3"...then change the bottom option to 22050 Hz, 32 kb/sec, mono) but you can experiment with settings thats just recommended) now click OK then click then save
OK now you are done with Sound Editor you can close out if you like
5. (you have Mobile Phone Tools RIGHT no? GO download it or something)
Mobile Phone Tools(if ya don't know what it is seach it and read up on it)directions
---------------------------------
open mobile tools go to multimedia center...locate you ringtone then click right click and tell it to "copy to phone" and your all done
---------------------------------
Equivilent program to Mobile Phone Tools directions
---------------------------------
just open the equivilent program and copy the ringtone to file
---------------------------------
Last step
go to your phone locate ringtones select you new mp3 ringtone and save it to be as your ringtone

Do you need a USB cable? I presume you do but I'd like to know for sure. Thanks!

For the steps above, you do need cable. However, if you have a bluetooth enable phone, you can upload the ringers to phone after you edited it.

How do you cut off lower frequencies? Like erase everything under 150hz? The mp3's would sound much more clear if you could do this....
Anyone know of a program that can do this?

Audacity has a high and low pass filter which lets you specify the frequency cut off rate.

Hi,
I just got a Razr V3, and successfully sent a .wav file to it via bluetooth from my computer. I can see it and play on the phone, but I can't set it as a ringtone.
Am I missing something? Can someone help please?

Anyone know how to get your MP3 rigtone to loop seemlessly on a V220 - there's always a slight pause at the end of the ringtone!

It is probably a software issue in the phone and the best it gets.
