Visited local Verizon store today and asked about the Motorola v710. Was told that they had suspended the v710 because of phone problems. They still had the v710 on display. It has been removed from the Verizon web site. Does anyone have additional information?

A small minority of phones were sold with the camera lens a bit crooked...i don't know how else to describe it...they said to test it, take a picture of something that is square and on the wall. if the picture is fine-there is no problem. if the picture is a bit turned to the right (I think) the lens is on an angle.
Sorry if I'm not clear but that's what I was told.

From what I heard from my local Verizon shop, there's a new batch of V710 that will be manufactured by Flextronic. Supposedly the quality of the new Flextronic camera is significantly better than the old one. Also some of the Bluetooth connectivity restrictions that were initially built in the Verizon's version of the V710 will be removed.
On a side note he also mentioned that the LG VX8000 should be in sometime before Christmas. He said that when it comes out it will be the best phone the Verizon has to offer and to wait for it instead of buying the V710 if I didn't need bluetooth.

New stock of the V710 would be in by Friday.
I'm torn on if I should wait for the LG8000 or get the LG6100. The problem is I'm not eligible for an upgrade until the Spring so I might just have to wait.
