So I have been trying to help my aunt dowload the Motorola Phone Tools on her computer. Well we downloaded it and then it got to the adding her phone part and thats where i started having trouble. One thing is that her phone is a Motorola Razr V3a i think or a V3am something of that sort. Anyways and i couldn't find that on the list and i tried to update the list but it didn't do anything well anyways i decided to just say it was a V3 would that make a difference when I go to transfer stuff just wondering? Anyways it will transfer pics and videos and anything of that sort in there but it will not send music to her phone unless it is the full song. That takes up to much space. When we go to the melody studio we crop the song into what we want for the ringtone and when we click tranfer to phone and it won't do anything AT ALL. The first time I installed this on her computer it just said mp3 codec missing and so i reinstalled it and now its not saying or doing anything when i click it. So now im stuck so does anyone have any idea what i can do to fix this or can i? ha. plz help.

I have:
a GSM Motorola KRZR K1
The latest USB drivers from Motorola's developer site
The latest update of MPT
Set the phone to USB / Data Connection
A USB modem device found, and tested to be working.
but MPT still crashes repeatedly, freezes, times out or generally doesn't work.
edit: I was finally able to get it to work by disabling 'INSTALL TAPI MODEM (Recommended)' [[it's ticked on by default]] in the part where you manually select the device driver (USB MOTOROLA MODEM).
And after all that phone resetting and driver installing/reinstalling, all MPT is good for is laggy Synchro and Ringtones editing, which you can easily do without having to install this crapware. Change the USB connection to 'Storage Device' and just plug it into your comp that way and xfer files, or simply email your phone a mp3 and you can then set it as a ringtone instead of spending 2hrs to get MPT to work.
I can't believe this garbageware costs money. I recommend P2k Connect or other hacking tools (BitPim)
