Hi.

I've recenty purchased a motorola v3.

I have successfully installed Motorola Phone tools, got it to sense my phone and everything but when I try to upload mp3's it appears to be copying/transfering or whatever. But the songs never show on the phone.

I notice when I save the mp3's as wave files the song actually appears on the phone but when i try to press play it says that the file has unidentifiable content and asks me to delete it.

I have and can successfully upload pictures and contact information but still the mp3's will not work at all.

Please I need help.

Oh yeah- My brother has the exact same phone and model as me (razr v3) and I have done every step that he does to upload his mp3s but it just wont work on my phone.

Also when I try to get the songs from his phone via bluetooth, as soon as I press accept it says file is corrupt and deletes it automatically.

Please Help?

I must have gotten lucky. I just installed MPT 4.0 on two different computers. One uses a bluetooth adapter, and the other connects through the mini USB cable. I have two RAZR V3 phones, one Cingular and the other T-Mobile. MPT 4.0 automatically found the cingular branded phone. I had to manually pick the T-Mobile branded one, but all works well. It seems that my bluetooth connection works faster than the usb connection. I got a big surprise when syncing Outlook from one computer, fogot that the address book had over a thousand contacts in it. Now time to figure out how to make my own ring tones.

icon_sad.gif Just got copy of MPT 4.0 from E-bay. Tried numerious times to put it on my computer (Win XP - SP2) install gets through completely then a box pops up sayng setting up program-please wait, at that point it puts several blue progress bars then quits. The only ting I can do after waiting 10-25 min. is stop the thing with task mgr.
I've read through all the forums and can't find anyone having the sam prob! Any help would be appreciated!

By the way, installed MobilEdit(trial) and it runs fine, as well as P2Kman, etc. Ipaid for this proggy and I would at least see what its all about!

icon_biggrin.gif Thanks for the reply Malibu21, and I tend to agree with you after reading all the posts, seems MPT is a bit buggy.
Stayed up late last night and managed to get MPT running. What I did was open up the MPT directory in Explorer and looked in all the directorys / sub directories.
I clicked on 'mPhonetools.exe' and nothing happened, then I clicked on all the '.exe.' files and found that 'MMCenter.exe' came up and ' MOffice.exe' would come up.
I then went to the 'INF' directory, clicked on 'DriverTool.exe' and it ran through its thing. Then on down to the ' Venturi ' directory an ran the .exe file ' Venturi.exe' and ran it.
I don't even know what 'Venturi' is or what it does(at this point) but after doing all this, MPT now works fine. Finally after all this, I noticed 'Venturi' running in my tray, so I went to 'msconfig' and deleted it. MPT still is running fine. Maby this will help others out!

P.S.: went to live update and it upgraded me to 4.0.2b

After messing with MPT & MobilEdit I've noticed that neither program will show whats actually in my audio, pictures or video directories, they only show what i've actually uploaded to my phone. According to P2Kman, I can see all the files in my phone. Think I'll stay with P2Kman and rest of P2K progs. to manipulate my phone.

Thanks

ok.I have been using mobiledit for a while now. and lately when i go to open it use to put a ringtone on my phone, the program opens twice but then exits out leaving a message saying that a program can't be opened twice on one machine. So i turned to P2k tools thinking i could use it. ok how am i suppose to do the ringtone thing through p2k?

It's stuck on Initalizing huh? I had the same problem seems the 08R firmware has a problem connecting, what you need to do is setup manually and use the E398 Driver

connect like you'd try normally, in MPT hit menu, then setup, then general setup, then communications tab, then change modem, hit next twice check the box, hit next double click Motorola GSM then find E398 then next and finish. it'll show up as a ROKR, but everything will work.

is the V325i a CDMA phone, if its not it will have a sim card.
