The remote software is build in!
What Sony Ericsson offers for download are the keypad schemes for different applications, not the application itself.

It's a standard feature of the phone.
Connectivity -> Bluetooth -> remote control
There you have the select the keypad scheme (already on the phone or have to be downloaded, see link above) and can start the remote control.

Hi,
It's nothing to be rude..! because its a natural disaster. Colombo coastal area was slightly affeted and killed around 50 in the dehiwala, and colombo-06 areas. It was so pathetic. Dead bodies floating in the lagoons it was a miserable scene. I never ever thought of coming across one. Even i lost 8 members in my uncles family.
And about your gmail invitations, Yes i would like to have one. Thanks..! i was looking forward and even i was searching for them.
And thanks for the links..!
Bye,

Hi,
How's everyone doing? I'm new here.
I just got the k700i a few days ago. I have been following the threads that has been posted here.
I noticed that I do not have the program in my k700i also.
From my phone,
>>Connectivity>Bluetooth>Remote Control
It says "No More Files"
Is there anyway I can get that program. Went to the sony ericsson site, however, it only provides the screen, not the program.
Sincerely,
Edwin Wuu

Anyone help me! I have a Yakumo bluetooth stick that has no HID support so obviously remote control won't work which is driving me crazy because I wanted it for PowerPoint presentations at work. Someone mentionned MIME Types and stuff - I have no idea what the hell all that is but it sounds like it works! Could someone explain to me in easy steps how to cure my problem - please!
| Bjoern wrote: | | Quote: | For this to work, the device you want to control must be Bluetooth aware and support the HID profile. The HID profile is supported by the latest versions of the WIDCOM Bluetooth stack (used in many PC products today) and also supported by the Microsoft Bluetooth stack for Windows XP.
You can initiate a connection from either the phone or the computer. However, the natural way to do it is from the phone (remote control unit). Simply go to the Connectivity menu -> Bluetooth menu and choose the Remote Control menu. You can see the HID configuration files available on the phone and choose the one you want. The phone will attempt to connect to the last device it was connected to. If that fails, it prompts you to select another available device. For frequent use, a user can configure a phone shortcut to point at the remote control application (please refer to the phone user guide). In this way, the remote control application can be conveniently reached in one click by moving the joystick (e.g. joystick up) from the standby-screen.
When the connection is set up, an image appears on the phone. The picture tells you which keys perform which functions. This screen is for reference only, the phone screen has not magically become touch sensitive. For example, here is the image for the Presenter, the configuration that you use to control a PowerPoint slide show.
The purpose of the keys is fairly obvious from the image. You can go to the beginning or end of the slides, play the slide show or stop it, go to a black or white screen. The volume keys (up and down) allow you to go to the next or previous slide.
HID configuration files can be downloaded to a phone like any other file. The MIME type for configuration files when received via WAP or MMS is application/vnd.sonyericsson.rc-conf.
As a developer, you probably want to know how to create your own configuration files. The good news, it's easy. The Developers' Guidelines: Bluetooth HID Remote Control provides all the necessary details for how to create key mappings and control mouse movement with the K700.
No special tools are required. Use any image editor to create the reference image. Use any XML or text editor to create the associated XML file that specifies the key mappings (according to the tags and instructions you'll find in the documentation). Pack these files into a TAR file and name it with the extension .hid, and you're done.
As support for the HID profile becomes more widespread, you'll find that you can use your K700 in all kinds of interesting ways to control electronic devices. |
