I'm in a bit of a predicament. I just finished playing around with my neighbors v600 and damn is it sexy. I found it absolutely flawless except for the fact that when you hear someone speak, they do sound a bit muffled/fuzzy kinda when compared to my phone but my phone is an old school phone and not one of the new digital ones so they all probably sound like that.
I still am not quite sure on whether I should goto T-mobile or Cingular but I can use those phones on either or so I was trying to decide that first.
The v400 from what I see is the same thing as the v600 except it doesn't have Bluetooth, the black part of the case on the outside and the cool colors when it rings Now I don't know what else the difference may be in these 2 phones but from what I can tell that's it.
I don't care about Bluetooth but I like stuff that looks cool and black phones look badass. (hmm v620 ) and those lights are truly badass but I don't think it warrants me having to spend a hellava lot more just to get those features but still...
I goto places like http://www.cellphones.com and I can sign up and get a v600 for like 150 then get 3 mail in rebates that'll make the phone be free but I don't know if I should trust a website like this you know? Watch the phone be used or refurbished or some crap or have defects and returning it will be a hassle.
In all reality I'd love to get the v620 but jesus christ $400-500 price tag? noooooo thanks. I can do so much more with that money then spend it on a phone like that.

The obvious choice here is to go with the V600. Here are some things to remember. Cingular know longer carries the V600 phone due to some bugs. (I don't see any bugs on mine.) However, they do carry the V400. You would be luck to find a V600 from Cingular if you stop by a smaller phone dealers. That was how I go mine.
On the other hand, T-Mobile still carries the V600. The difference is that T-mobile phones come locked; thus, you are not able to use other sim chip other than T-mobile. In addition, the 4th gsm band is disable. Instead of 4 band, it is only 3 band. This, however, can be enable through hexing of seems.
Some phone dealers who are authorize in several providers will offer you the V600 T-mobile phone with a Cingular as your provider. They will gladly unlock the phone for you provided that you sign up with them.
I, myself, ame not too fond with the V80 or the soon to be release V620 phones. The color is not attractive for both of the phones. The outer screen for the V80 is prune to scratches or crack if not taken care of properly. The V620 as I understood, is just of comestic. The features are much the same as the V600.
Happy shopping. I do not like online orders as well.

Like on the side of this site, there are many links that say Free V600 and such that take you to unheard of sites that offer mail in rebates from unheard of companies that I don't trust. Plus the fact that they never once state that you will be receiving a Brand NEW V600 phone, just "get the new v600 phone" which is a twist on words but mean different things.
Problem is in most stores the v600 will be $250-$300 compared to getting the v400 which seems like the same thing minus a few features from cingular for $130, hell if you goto cingular.com you get it for $50 with the online instant rebate.
So would you recommend going to those little shops at the mall that offer phones from various companies?
PS. What's the difference between quad and tri band? make you get better signals?

Some of the stores, excluding the kisosk in malls, offers great prices and add additional stuff to the phone package. For example, free phone cover, wired headset, car charger. Normal at the malls, they'd make you pay for it if you want them.
If you total distrust online sales, chek them out, see what they have to offer. The plans are the same no matter what. The price on the phone they can play with as far as pricing is concern. I don't know where you are located at; the V600 are practically free now. I got mine V600 3 months ago and it was for $50 after rebate and the V400 is free.
Like I said in the previous post. The t-mobile phones comes locked and is tri-band. It is not much concern if you don't plan to travel to another country that uses that band. I do not not exactly which band is turned off. I think it is for the middle east countries. Don't quote me on that.

You got the v600 for $50 after rebates at a store? That's a very good deal. The Cingular store I went to doesn't have any v600's and the v400's are for $130 with no rebate whatsoever. That was just a "Cingular" Store next to the supermarket though so maybe others will have better deals.
I don't care for car chargers, headsets and all that free crap they'll offer me because I won't use none of that. I am only interested in getting the phone at a good price since all the plans are the same. I'm going to try a T-mobile store tomorrow and see how that goes.
