I can't pair or connect the bluetooth headset w/ my motorola v80. I powered up the HS820 and tried to search for the device in the V80, but the phone can't recognize or find it. I've followed the instructions in both manuals to the letter and still can't get it to work. Please help me.
Thanks.

Make sure both devices are charged.
On the HS820:
With the boom close. Press and hold down center icon on headset.
Wait for steady light.
Flip boom open.
Lights are emitting. Now search for bluetooth device.
On the phone:
go to menu, settings, connection, bluetooth, headsfree, look for device
When prompt, enter password: 0000
Follow instruction.
Did that work? What is the error if any?

Not sure what you mean by "boom". My HS820 doesn't seem to have a mic boom, the mic is imbedded in the unit.

My bad. I am using the HS810 and it has mic boom. I just wanted to make sure that you have turn on the headset in pairing mode. Was it flashing when you tried to pair the phone?

I have tried this too...after no success from following the 2 manuals...
On the phone, after I "scanned' handsfree looking for device, it found the HS820. Which I then select.
Then it seeks....
and after a little wait, I get the message, "Unable to connect".
What other steps am I missing?
on the headset part, I hold down the centre button until the blue light is no longer flashing.
So the phone was able to find the HS820, but it won't connect.
Please help!!!
Thanks.

When turning on the HS820, press and HOLD the center button until it is discovered. The mistake is turning on the headset and releasing the button when the light blinks - as you normally would when just turning it on. ~ Kevin

Sorry, but that's not correct. I use an HS815 and I'm having the same problem as saber. According to the manual you're supposed to hold the button on the headset until the light stays on. That is discover mode. My v557 and hs815 worked fine like that for a while. I actually used the hs815 back and forth between my v557 and my Treo650. Then one day it stopped working with the v557 but is still fine with the Treo. I also need help solving this issue as they recently finally passed the no cell phone while driving law in Puerto Rico. Thanks.

I have the new Slvr L7 w/ the HS820 and this is how I got mine to work. I went to the search for devices screen and then pressed adn held my HS820 large button till it was on. Continueing holding the button till it is lit and not blinking then search for the device adn it'll find it. Enter the pin 0000 and your good to go. Thanks for all the help previous posters.
