I have a Motorola V180 and was trying to give it a new look and tried modifying a few seems. I was able to do a few more things after modifying the seems but my phone would lock up doing other tasks. So I found a flash/flex file found here http://motoaide.com:8081/motorola/flash_flex/ that was close to mine and was able to use the pst phone programmer to flash and flex it back... my old version was R364_G_OB.D1.32R Flex Version GSIV180CIN03NA112 and upgraded to R365_G_OB.D2.2ER Flex Ver GSIV180MOCIN04NA16D. It's back working great now but it’s got me thinking that I might be able to find a flex/flash to unbranded the phone to open up other programs. And I'd like to use the modem for my notebook while traveling (with cingular the modem is disabled). There was this other flash R365_G_OB.D2.2ER but the flex version was GSIV180CGENA161_1FF . I chose the first one because of the letters V180CIN found in the flex must mean their for the moto V180 with Cingular service. In this other flash/flex it has V180CGEN in the coding... Is this the one I'd use to unbranded the phone? Dose anyone know what the letters and numbers mean in the flex versions?

Got a nice priced V635 off of Ebay from a guy that said he was selling it due to Cingular updates in his area, but now says it's a T-Mobile branded phone even though in the ad he never mentioned it. So, if this is the case when it arrives I'm going to need to flash/flex it to use it with Cingular, or just use a monster pack to get it going. Hard to find info on what to get though. I did download one Monster pack R474_G_08.48.90R_01_GSMV635YAGERMOD_By_YaGeR.rar and am just wondering if this will do the trick? Anyone with a V635 know where to get the Cingular flash/flex if this one won't work?
Thanks!
Ooooh just saw this in the previous post!!!! http://motoaide.com:8081/motorola/flash_flex/ and it has a V635 flash/flex file but it's in 3 parts. Do I have to combine them to use and if so how? Has anyone used this?

The retail V635 flash/flex file I found at the above site comes in 3 parts, with extensions of part0, part1, part 2. Do I just use these or do I have to find a way to combine these into one big file? Very confused here
Well I'm not one of the lucky on here that ever get a reply, so trying the Yager mod. Will update on how it goes.

Too bad I didn't find the HowardForums link to the V635 flashing topic sooner. Yagermod turned my phone into a paperweight. One link listed it as a all in one newbie friendly flash and then another said how it shouldn't be applied until AFTER you flashed to a standard MP first. That said this isn't a MP but a reflash I guess. Anyway my V635 is shell flipped and all the cable interfaces are disabled so I can't do a reflash or even a backup flash. The flipped lid doesn't matter but the fact that my PC can't detect the phone anymore, nor does it even recognize that anything is even attached is screwing me.

Wonder of wonders I actually got it to flash! I guess the reason the PC wasn't reading the phone is that the USB port I was connecting it to went temporarily 'dead' after I first flashed using the Yagermod. Figured this out when my V620 didn't show up either, so I swapped USB ports and magically it showed up! Flashed then to one of the standard retail MPs and now it's working! I figured I was screwed hard when my laptop didn't read the phone at all. So if this happens to anyone else try another USB port and see.
Of course in the meantime, thinking that I had a paperweight I picked up a NEW V635 off Ebay so I guess I'll just put this one up in it's place and get my dough back!
